Just a post to recognise the bravery of Brittany Higgins and Grace Tame.
It may seem random but it is not.
Today, the Grace Tame Foundation board revealed Grace's legacy organisation will close. This news is devastating. We need more small activist-led NFPs and charities working to end violence against women and children in Australia. They can make a real difference where larger organisations cannot.
I have no doubt Grace's voice will never be silenced and she will forge her legacy under her own steam.
But still, to lose the foundation is a blow and one that will take time to heal from.
Also today, the final chapter closed (legally speaking) for Brittany, with the High Court of Australia throwing out rapist Bruce Lerhmann's final attempt at retribution and for silencing her. Lerhmann faces another rape trial toward the end of the year. Thinking of the woman at the centre of that case today as well.
