This wonderful shot of a Cinema in Naples in 1956 reminds me of one Film in particular. I’m sure it will you too.

@NoContextBrits I have just seen my 90 year old neighbour cut the grass with a heavy lawnmower at 3pm at 93.2 F wearing his regimental tie but slipping a little with short sleeve order in the shirt department!

Owing to the forecast high temperatures, MCC has decided to dispense with the requirement for gentlemen to wear jackets in the Pavilion for the Blast match between Middlesex and Surrey on the day of Sunday 24 May. This applies to Members of MCC and Middlesex and their guests.

@PictureSporting Wonderful photo, Jack Hobbs wasted as an umpire and the incorrigible Jardine front row with his signature, clear as a bell on his trousers.

The Old England XI v Surrey, The Oval on May 23rd 1946. Jack Hobbs, Errol Holmes, Maurice Allom, Maurice Tate, Ted Brooks, Andrew Sandham, Herbert Strudwick. Front: Patsy Hendren, Douglas Jardine, Percy Fender (capt), Herbert Sutcliffe, Frank Woolley. Donald Knight, Tich Freeman. Surrey made 248 for 6, Old England replied with 232 for 4 (Hendren 94, Woolley 62, Jardine 54). My father, who was 12 when war broke out, was thrilled to be there and watch in the flesh some of the great names of pre-war cricket. The match was to celebrate Surrey's centenary

Saturday morning and I’ve just cruised back and moored in Woodbridge. The sun is still rising and I can see my boat from here, bobbing around waiting for her next adventure. Until then, it’s been an experience. But now, time for coffee and breakfast.

Happy Birthday Deryck Murray One of West Indies’ safest wicketkeepers, played 62 Tests between 1963 and 1980. Calm and dependable behind the stumps, he also became a handy batter, scoring 11 Test fifties - including four in Australia against Lillee and Thomson in 1975-76. So admired was Murray that when he was dropped for the Trinidad Test, fans boycotted the match and the pitch was vandalised.

@jarodhitchcock Such a gent, no massive drives but well educated hands. Always paired with Seve during practice rounds at The Open. This is obviously a opportunity to to show a clip of Seve as well 😉

Love Classical Music and Movies 🎺🎻💖🎥🎬
One of the most brilliantly acted scenes in “Inglourious Basterds.” Michael Fassbender brought so much charm, intelligence, and quiet tension to Archie Hicox — a character who feels confident and in control right until everything falls apart. An incredibly underrated performance in one of Tarantino’s best scenes.

@AlexTran677026 I believe Tarantino shoe horned a unrecognisable Rod Taylor as Churchill sitting in the background as a favour. Quentin loved a bloodbath of a film Rod made called ‘Dark of the Sun’ 1968.
