The Baltimore Ravens aren't the first team to go back on a tampering agreement due to medical concerns. Ryan Poles' first move was Larry Ogunjobi that fell through due to foot medicals. However, the Ravens are the first team (that I can recall, anyways) to act in EXTREMELY poor faith, citing medical concerns as an excuse for Player A, because they misunderstood the market on Player B at the same position, and suddenly wanted take-backsies. And when that Player A is the first domino that needed to fall in the off-season, and was covered by many other teams who were in on that domino had to allocate resources elsewhere, you know the NFL is going to make sweeping changes to the league schedule rather than penalizing the team that committed the clear abuse. So thanks for that...

Ravens and Trey Hendrickson reached agreement on a four-year, $112 million contract. Hendrickson stays in the AFC North, and now will be facing Joe Burrow and the Bengals twice a season.

@DavidAr15316425 They wanted him less then they wanted two first round picks and Trey Hendrickson at his suddenly deflated market that appeared after the agreement in principle. Let's not spin it any other way. Legal but scummy. And the rest of the league is going to pay for that.

@mattnerone @KDPomp That's up to each individual team. I'm sure some teams will not have concerns. Doesn't mean the Ravens MDs didn't. Hendrickson was already a FA before they made the trade, so it wasn't like they didn't know he was an option.

Less than 24 hours after Baltimore “backed out” of Maxx Crosby trade, they reach agreement with FA Edge rusher Trey Hendrickson. Per Multiple NFL insiders Something ain’t right here It’s a 4-year, $112M contract. That’s $28M per year, and Hendrickson now goes from Cincy to Baltimore in the AFC North.

@JasonSallans @PriscoCBS That’s literally what you’re allowed to do since free agency doesn’t actually start until today. I don’t like the move either, but it’s well within their right

@DamonBruce Issue is every team has their own set of standards for physical. He could pass the raiders and 30 other team and still fail the ravens

If the Ravens were negotiating with Trey Hendrickson after announcing the Crosby trade, I’m calling BS on the failed physical. I’d be demanding phone records if I’m the Raiders. If they only picked up the phone to call Trey after announcing Crosby failed … then ok. But if they were working 2 plans at once, they should still have to give a first rounder to Vegas.

@4WhomJBellTolls Only one person maintained control of the ball when they touched the ground and he was in orange. Cooks didn’t make a ball carrier move. That would be an incomplete pass if he dropped it rolling on the ground.

1) The fact this angle was not released until days later says everything. How many times do we go into commercial / come out of commercial and get 8 different camera angles of a play only to get the one that is clear as day at the last moment. It’s all a con to make a TV show. 2) All the “the ball came free when it hit the ground / if there was no defender and it just popped free it’s incomplete” is bull. Cooks caught it. He brought it to his body as he hit the ground. He was locked in. This has never ever been called a pick. The officials were afraid of the home crowd. They blew the call. Then the league threw every foot soldier possible out to try and gaslight the masses.

@grantpaulsen This is such a joke of a take… why send a guy playing at 75% out there for this terrible season? And for the he’s “healthy” people out there, he clearly wasn’t. Terrible decision by a coaching staff believing they’re on the hot seat

Playing Jayden Daniels was the correct decision. This is not that complicated. 1) He was healthy / available. 2) He needs reps to get back to playing at a high level. 29% of the season left; wasn’t a January game in Week 18. He needs time on the field and he’s healthy. He plays.

@BrettKollmann Not enough for what? It’s been like 6-7 years since a qb not in the top 5 qbs in the league has won a Super Bowl. The facts are not every team can compete for the Super Bowl. Lamar Jackson just isn’t enough either?

A shot in the dark here but I’d guess QB Drake “Drake Maye” Maye doesn’t know because he doesn’t watch First Take at 10am during peak game-planning hours at work

@kurt13warner The warm weather teams have the advantage of playing in warmish weather the entirety of the season. Dolphins stadium has the opposing team sideline beat down with the sun during September football. Imo it’s no different than the advantage a cold weather team gets playoff time

Again I have no problem with a team winning home field advantage & that should be an advantage, BUT I completely unfair advantage that a warm weather city can never get come playoff time just makes it an uneven playing IMO at the most important time of the year… if I got same advantage in a warm weather city then maybe I feel more neutral, but I don’t, so I don’t like that advantage simply bc you were drafted to cold weather city and I was not!
Kyle Layton@KyleDLayton

@kurt13warner I understand your point Kurt? But don't you think the current way things are makes it more competitive? Teams have to earn their advantage by winning games.

Wrong again. Pick up the phone and get some advice on how to handle this. You don’t know. It’s okay. It is unique. However, there IS someone who would take that phonecall in two seconds and help you out. Classic case of ego getting in the way of doing the right thing IMO.

He’s a four-time pro bowler without even making it the season he threw for his most yards and won a couple playoff games. That isn’t mediocre. There are a handful of Hall of Fame quarterbacks who didn’t win more than two playoff games. People act like you have to be all time elite to be noteworthy.
