@sethtoups Tired team. There’s only about 3-4 hot teams right now. Most teams have hit a wall with the condensed schedule post olympic break. They finally get 2 days off after Saturday. Throw in a trade deadline and a couple injuries. They’ll be fine

I gotta wait for postgame quotes people. I don't know what is going on with this team right now. I know no Kaprizov 30 minutes before puck drop is a major wrench, but everything has been like 5 degrees off for a while. I'll do an episode tonight after I salt this one away lol

Donato swiped at Wallstedt after a save and McCarron crushed him to the ice. Then, Middleton jabbed at Donato. Donato punched back at McCarron, and McCarron went to town on the non-pugilist. Refs are conferring on what to call here

More specific diagnosis for Ant, but it doesn’t change the timeline for recovery. It remains a 1-2 week re-evaluation. This just gives a little more detail on the inflammation

@TheRealForno @AtoZSportsNFL Nothing to do with that. Owners aren’t going to put qbs behind offensive lineman that probably wont ever see an nfl field.

@cdwild27 @AtoZSportsNFL My counter would be this: that isn’t deterring them from adding games to the regular season schedule and having games on both Thursday nights and weird days

Cole Payton is a perfect example of why the NFL having some form of minor leagues would be incredibly beneficial. A lot of talent worth nurturing, but limited reps. It's not Payton's fault that the guy in front of him started four years and won a couple of National Titles!
Devin Jackson@RealD_Jackson

#NDSU QB Cole Payton is a fascinating study, because he has one year of full starting tape, but his athleticism and running ability has been a weapon in their offense for the past 3 years, including 2023 (shown below) when he had a team-high 13 TDs and 3 games over 100 or more yards (as a backup!) He's became a much improved passer than earlier in his career, but any team drafting him should leverage his running ability.

Hearing that Anthony Edwards’ condition is not considered serious. The inflammation got to a point where he just needs rest to let it calm down. With the playoffs approaching, the priority is getting him fully healthy and ready to go for the postseason.

@thorku I dont see how anyone thinks this isnt a good thing. We almost never have a qb play a full season. Now we have two qbs with talent. Who still have an opportunity to end up being the qb for the next 5 yrs. Who are highly motivated to get paid.

Opportunity cost of Y3 data on top-10 QB pick with Y5 option pending pre-Y4 is big — my disagreement would be deciding a year before you have to. I had my doubts it would be a fair competition. But team/reporting are both emphatic it will be. Perfect 👌🏻 Let the best man win.

Tricky situation, because ideal offenses/play-calling are different for Kyler/JJ, right? Can KOC do right by the competition early in camp and build an offense around the QB1 winner by the end of it? If he can stick the landing — however it shakes out — it’s an awesome signing.
Dakota Skol@bedrock842002

@thorku I don’t understand why people can’t see that a QB competitive room is the best for the Vikings and Kyler and JJ, I happen to believe that the young man can push Kyler and vice versa

@NicholasMMiller @TPPSkol This fanbase is so dumb. We got a former #1 pick with talent for free. We have JJ basically for free. We almost never have a qb play a full season. Competition makes everyone better. JJ still has upside and knowledge of the offense. Him getting a reality check is not a bad thing

I think at this point it would be a surprise to me if JJ was actually a Viking this season. I think the team is clearly out on him. And they don't need fans demanding JJ when Kyler has a bad game. Both sides need a clean slate. Probably a minimal return at this point though

No surprise here. Both Kyler Murray and the Vikings needed this deal. Now that it's official, let's dig in. Reasons for optimism: - He's far more accomplished than Sam Darnold was when joining Minnesota. - The Cardinals are a broken organization and it's possible that nobody was going to succeed. - Murray missed 30 games in 7 years in Arizona. They won 5 of those games. Maybe Murray wasn't the problem. Reasons for pessimism: - Stylistically, he's nothing like KOC's success stories. Murray is a shotgun quarterback; Darnold and Cousins mostly played under center. Murray is an improvisationalist; Darnold and Cousins were pocket, scheme passers. - The Cardinals' offense was better with Jacoby Brissett last year and Michael Wilson went berserk after Kyler left. - He wasn't throwing to scrubs: Larry Fitzgerald. DeAndre Hopkins. Christian Kirk. Zach Ertz. Marquise Brown. Maybe Marvin Harrison Jr counts. Murray gives Vikings fans hope for 2026 and he gives JJ McCarthy another year to learn from the bench.

Here's the thing about this Wolves team: Every time you (and they) think they have it together and are ready for a run, they prove you wrong. And every time you think they're dead and buried, they also prove you wrong. Seventeen games to go. Anything can happen.
