This theory that if Iran had a nuclear weapon it would use it, and therefore we have to step in, could have applied to other nuclear countries like North Korea or Pakistan. Iran would not suddenly use it to attack Israel, for they know they would be annihilated in return. That is why Pakistan and North Korea do not use them. They are more of a deterrent.
