A very challenging case went home this week after a 3-month stay and there was not a dry eye in the clinic!🥹This beloved 22-yr-old retired TB broodmare (YES, a TB!) had a severe LF lameness for over a year related to a chronic breakdown of the soft tissue supports of the pastern ("XYZ" ligaments). This resulted in subluxation of both her pastern and coffin joints. A tough one but by fusing her pastern joint surgically, and putting things back in reasonable alignment, we could then work on rehabbing her sagging support ligaments, resulting eventually in a sound and happy mare. The owner asked us to post this story so others would be aware that this kind of surgical option exists - this mare means the world to her and if she had known this was possible, she would have done things much sooner. This mare is just a sweetheart and all went smoothly - she is back home now with her 27-yr-old best friend🥰

Just arrived in Tampa for SEC Media Days. Ryan Silverfield and the Hogs will take their turn on Thursday.
I’ve always appreciated SEC Commissioner Greg Sankey’s passion for music. I was there for his first speech as SEC Commissioner at SEC Media Days in 2015, where he referenced Bob Dylan’s 1963 song "The Times, They Are Achangin’. He also never misses the opportunity to see U2 in concert even if outside the U.S..
When he makes his annual appearance on our morning show at SEC Media Days, we always challenge him to a short game of Name That Tune featuring songs from the 70’s and 80’s (his favorite era). He rarely misses. I asked him in June to give me his personal top 10 Summer playlist. No summer theme necessary, just the songs he’d prefer to hear the most. No surprise, they have memorable hooks, compelling rhythms and great harmony. Two bands make up half the song list. And mostly 70s & 80s.

@3coltshandicap @DanonymousMan He helped me win at least 3 handicapping tournaments back in the day along with the late, great John Asher. Also 🔥 at Meadowlands turf. He and his huge sunglasses are legendary!

Brad Thomas is one of the better handicapper’s you’ll find anywhere.
He also picked winners Funky See Funky Do (8-1), Ruse (6-1), Rock the Rainbow (8-1), Thingamabob (6-1) and That’s How We Love (9-1) among others this week as top picks.
And a really good guy too.

@therailbird333 @billy_elmore Congratulations! You definitely had a reason to watch that boring shit! Nice hit!
English

@PhilCleek @billy_elmore I parlayed Knicks to win, down 15 starting 4th Q in game 4 with Spain to win WC at 39/1. I was a big fan today. I absolutely love the WC every 4 years.
English

@therailbird333 @billy_elmore I made two bets. Draw +140 and Spain -160. Hit both. Saw the halftime and about two minutes. Flipped back to see I had won 1-0. Other people might like caviar, but I like my eggs from a chicken scrambled . They can have it! Bring on football!
English

@billy_elmore If it’s not for you, that’s perfectly fine. Fact is though at least 10-12 times more people watched the Final today than the Super Bowl. Numbers might approach 2 billion viewers vs 125million for Super Bowl.

For many unwashed, uncouth, unsophisticated Americans such as myself, this popular statement of the moment is very true - but not for the same reason as much of the rest of the world is echoing it.

@peterjpavia @andyserling @Tyler_Gaff @brenpwalsh You don’t have to apologize for being excited about a 23-1 shot! You do, however, need to apologize for calling Andy Mr. Serling! 😂
English

@PhilCleek @andyserling @Tyler_Gaff @brenpwalsh I do apologize for that. Walsh's horses have been sharp, I knew that, but I would have played the 13 on top if not for Mr. Serling. I fact, I boxed him with that deuce. He might still be running, I don't know.
English

@andyserling likes a big long shot? PAY ATTENTION!! Thanks, Andy. And congratulations to @Tyler_Gaff @brenpwalsh and to the connects of Learntodiscover. Thrilling win.

@BTW_Mick @hwinkler4real I like Ruff and Ready! They’re tough and steady.
