I only gave a few thousand dollars. I’m sure @growsf can find the money if they’re willing to take it out of their own salaries.

Whenever I’m asked for comment on identical stories with no particular news hook, I know it’s an op. The White House’s AI Framework has excellent engagement on the Hill, including from some Democrats. Surprised WSJ and Politico would fall for this.

Really excited for this launch of Gemma 4 from @demishassabis and the DeepMind team. Open source models are a key front for the west to have a lead on and this is a very key addition to the effort. Excited to see what developers in SV and around the world can build using this.
Demis Hassabis@demishassabis

Excited to launch Gemma 4: the best open models in the world for their respective sizes. Available in 4 sizes that can be fine-tuned for your specific task: 31B dense for great raw performance, 26B MoE for low latency, and effective 2B & 4B for edge device use - happy building!

Remember that these $50b go somewhere. What people do with money is that they invest it into making more money by the same means. Meaning that fraud industrial complex in California alone is flush with 50b to invest into causing more fraud. If you want to know why things are so fucked up, look no further than these examples (assuming they are true).
Christopher F. Rufo ⚔️@christopherrufo

EXCLUSIVE: Multiple senior HHS officials estimate that, under Gavin Newsom, California's state Medicaid program has lost 25 percent of its budget to fraud. This would mean it is currently losing $50 billion a year to scammers, fraudsters, and organized crime rings.

Least surprising news about the anti-data center movement in this country. They are wittingly or unwittingly doing the bidding of foreign oligarchs and the Chinese Communist Party.
Steve Guest@SteveGuest

BREAKING: Left-Wing Foreign Billionaires Fund Groups Trying To Cripple AI Infrastructure Per @breccastoll: Self-proclaimed anti-AI data center grassroot groups received more than $39 million in funding from left-wing foreign billionaire donors. “The anti-AI data center movement — which has been billed as an organic movement — received more than $39 million in funding from left-wing foreign billionaire donors. Among the major donors listed in the report is Swiss billionaire Hansjörg Wyss, known for donating to leftwing advocacy groups such as the Sixteen Thirty Fund which, in turn, is well known as a major fiscal sponsor and “dark money” hub for liberal causes.” via @realDailyWire

🚨 DAVID SACKS: “Anthropic may pose as this company that's on the side of the angels, but they've hired a number of very seasoned brass knuckle political operatives in Washington … They can be quite ruthless.”

Top founders don’t discuss their company with the NY Times; they know it’s a negative mouthpiece for hateful propaganda that will ultimately always side against builders, and against America. It’s a huge mistake for founders to speak with them. Build your own voice and audience.
NYTimes Communications@NYTimesPR

Jason, business leaders from your industry and others speak to The New York Times, as they have for years, because our reporters produce insightful, fair reporting that illuminates audiences everywhere. We're not publicists and we're not promoting anyone's pitch deck.

Thanks @ChairmanSelig. Getting crypto market structure legislation across the finish line remains a vital part of the President’s pro-innovation technology agenda which we will continue to push.

🚨🇺🇸 DAVID SACKS COMPLETES HIS 130 DAYS AS TRUMP'S AI AND CRYPTO CZAR Sacks used up his full allocation as a special government employee and is now moving to co-chair the President's Council of Advisors on Science and Technology. In just over four months, Sacks helped shape Trump's AI framework, pushed for easier permitting and power generation for tech companies, and brought serious Silicon Valley credibility to an administration that needed it. He sold over $200 million in crypto investments before taking the role. No conflicts. Clean hands. Now he gets an expanded portfolio. PCAST covers AI plus a broader range of technology policy. Less day-to-day operations, more strategic recommendations directly to the president. Sacks: "I think moving forward as co-chair of PCAST, I can now make recommendations on not just AI but an expanded range of technology topics." One of the few people in Washington who actually understands how this technology works. Good to see him staying involved. Source: CNBC @DavidSacks

🚨🇺🇸🇮🇷 David Sacks warned that the U.S. is at risk of applying too much pressure to Iran, forcing the desperate regime to essentially try to destroy the Gulf states. "Something like 100 million people on the Arabian Peninsula get their water from desal. Desal plants are soft targets. If you see that type of destruction continue, you could render the Gulf almost uninhabitable." Source: All-In Podcast
