The portrayal you deleted mirrored "Lost Cause" post civil war narrative employed to gloss over the root of the war. Longstanding disputes regarding tariffs, economic sectionalism, cultural differences, and federal power, often framed as "states' rights", were real and contributed to decades of tension, but they were secondary to slavery. nps.gov/liho/learn/his…

Do you know why this white man is relevant to Black history? Let me enlighten you. He was one of the Freedom Riders. In 1960, he was on a bus full of Freedom Riders who arrived in Montgomery Alabama where an angry white mob was waiting for them. He volunteered to get off the bus first and take the brunt of the mob's violence, which left him beaten and bloody. His name was James Zwerg.

@Lila_Tomasi @BananaBatmans @rirokpik For clarity, "maintaining the economic interests of the Southern states." was about white peoples wealth and comfort, not about black people.

Slavery was their EVERY concern! The economy of the South depended on slavery and servitude. A significant number of Governors, law enforcement, judiciary, etc, were plantation owners who'd aligned themselves in positions of power to ensure perpetuation and control of the slave trade - collective economic interests. Even after Abolition, arbitrary state-level vagrancy laws were created which enabled slave traders to regain their freed slaves under punitive involuntary servitude which the 13th Amedment had condstituted against, except in the event of being prosecuted for a crime! Hence arbitrary laws! To oppose the progressive vision of Lincoln who was running for president, as he'd spoken of ending slavery, the governors in 7 states created a confederacy to oppose Abolition of slaves, to oppose the progressive changes they feared Lincoln would make. Central government fought the Southern confederacy who resisted change and had enlisted the support of 4 neighbouring states who seceded from the union. Needless to say, the confederate states lost and central government control was restored. Historian consensus is that Lincoln even declared the emancipation proclamation to weaken the economy of the confederacy, which relied on slavery. In addition, around 200,000 black freedmen were enlisted to help fight against the confederate states, the moral motovation strengthened the military power of the union states. The loophole in the 13th amendment, however, implicitly speaks a thousand words about Lincoln's intentions. So yes, the civil war was ALL about black people. Slavery - maintaining the economic interests of the Southern states.

@Lila_Tomasi @BananaBatmans @rirokpik What I said was *black people* weren't their concern. I.e. the economics were the concern, not those who were enslaved. x.com/DBDesign12/sta…

@_asmodai @BananaBatmans @rirokpik The bottom line is, it was about finance. Industrialisation & slavery couldn't grow alongside each other. Economic growth could accomodate the expansion of one or the other, not both. The North pushed for industrialisation, the South for continued free labour. The North won.

@bonnar30014 @NormanBrennan Whatever to formal lines, no one can stop the jurors brains taking in the information or being influenced by it.

@DBDesign12 @NormanBrennan Again the judge not the jury decides mitigating circumstances, such as whether the victim initiated violence, but the jury should judge on evidence as to whether or not the crime occurred; the video evidence is conclusive.

“But 6 million Jews were killed” A Palestinian man: “Did I kill them?” “I never hurt a fly in my life” This video really breaks my heart. The man paid the price of Europe’s hatred of the Jews.

So this Tuesday I’m going for a series of medical tests, including 2 MRIs, to be checked for MS, among other neurological issues. I’m hoping it’s just a B12 deficiency, as they can cause similar symptoms, but I am having some symptoms that are apparently more MS-specific, and I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t a bit concerned. I can definitely notice a difference in my balance and the speed at which my muscles tire out, especially on the right side. I’m also dragging that foot a bit, and have some peripheral neuropathy on that side that’s slowly beginning on the left foot as well. I’m also wearing out much too easily for someone who’s my age and is at my level of fitness, and if I try to close my eyes and stand still, I sway all over the place. Walking heel-to-toe in a straight line is also basically impossible now, even with my arms out to the side for balance. If I get pulled over in another jurisdiction, I’m probably going to jail for DUI lmao. Anyway, hopefully Tuesday will be the first and most important step in getting an answer. I’ve been ignoring this stuff for way too long, so wish me luck and keep your fingers crossed for me. ♥️

NEW: 🇬🇧 🇮🇱 Tommy Robinson (not his real name) received $100,000 from Robert Shillman for his 'Unite The Kingdom' movement. Robert Shillman was one of the Zionist donors that TURNED on Charlie Kirk and PULLED their funding after he started to question Israel. Never forget what the Epstein files revealed about “Tommy” “Robinson”: “Cheap at any price.

@adamemedia1 Only recently heard about this guy, but I'm sure Elon would have given Tommy Rob the money anyway. But one should ask, why would mega rich American citizens be funding events like this. Are we really expected to believe it's because they care about the future of the U.K.

@_asmodai @BananaBatmans @rirokpik The voices of abolitionists were also heard in the UK, once colonial slavery was no longer economically viable for the UK. These decisions are made based on the desire for wealth accumulation, but the history books and political debates rarely frame it that way.

@DBDesign12 @BananaBatmans @rirokpik I'm not trying to claim whites are heroes. But from everything I've read, abolitionist sentiment was a large factor in antebellum tensions, and only became more solidified as the war began. The cause of Abolition loomed large in the minds of the Yankee army.

@bonnar30014 @NormanBrennan #1 one is a direct consideration. Both parties can't be said to be guilty of initiating violence. #2 is less direct, but informs about the nature of the policing. The police had assaulted several people that day. If it were as cut & dried as you claim, they'd have a decision.

@DBDesign12 @NormanBrennan The question the jury has to answer is whether or not the accused committed the crime based on the evidence presented to the jury: yes or no. It is for the judge to consider the factors you mention when sentencing.

@_asmodai @BananaBatmans @rirokpik And the Iraq war was about "weapons of mass destruction", yeah we know... "History is written by the victors" We know white history always records whites as the heroes. I'm not debating that.
