The best hands to play in multiway pots are ones with the most near-nut potential. A4s, KTs, 88 all go up in value. "Top pair hands" like KQo and AJo go down in value. Weaker suited hands like 75s don't do well unless you fold them - in which case they'd have flopped a boat.

I used to think following your passion for was the #1 thing when it came to career. Then my parents told me how much they paid for braces when I was a kid. Then I realized I wanted that “I can pay for braces or an MRI for my kids and not sweat it” money.

@DBM132 @RealKidPoker He’s one of the best players ever. Over the course of 100s of heads up finals he’s going to end up way ahead since 1st usually pays 60% more than 2nd and he wins 70% or more of the time.

Why I decided in the late 90’s not to make deals in tourneys: It really came down to not wanting to hurt people’s feelings by only chopping with people who’s game I respected. If I chop with Bob because he is good, and then next week my friend Jim asks to chop but he isn’t very good and I say no, he may say “But you chopped with Bob last week. Why wouldn’t you chop with me?” If I chop with Jim I’m taking the worst of it. I’m a favorite to beat Jim. If I tell the truth, Jim might think I’m an asshole. So to avoid taking the worst of it and also keeping things on the tour friendly with my competitors, I made it a policy to never chop. This way, no one should feel slighted and I avoid uncomfortable conversations with people I may really like, but also don’t think play very well.

@PhilGalfond Hey Phil. I'm an advertising professional. You would think platforms like Google & FB would remain on the up & up. Make billions. Why risk it? Yet every year, the platforms reveal less data to individuals in order to sell lesser inventory. And continually increase profits.

@agazdecki @savio_branco Still not sure how this has changed. Advertising on TV has shifted online. Being listed in the Yellow Pages is the equivalent to being found on Google. Same concepts, different mediums.
