@AnimalWorld49 @IsThisA3DModel @mahotank Bruv this isn't complicated.
"I want AI to do the busy work so I can focus on the creative and fulfilling work" is the driving desire of everyone in this debate, we just disagree on what part is fun. The key diff I see is many on one side see the _entire_ process as "busy work"
English

@IsThisA3DModel @mahotank The point remains fam. it's gonna be all of nothing. You can't say " oh let me have this little sliver of AI for myself but everyone else can fuck off." You're smart enough to know that's not going to be the case at all. It can't be.
English

>art is only the parts of the workflow I personally enjoy doing
Is this a 3D model?@IsThisA3DModel
@alightinastorm Hey dumb dumb! We already posted about this 6 months ago. 3D artists have been saying for years we want AI to do tedious work like retopo so we can focus on the creative parts. You'd understand the difference if you ever actually made something 🥰 x.com/i/status/19813…

@ShinobiVaultHQ Just cos you pick Satan doesn’t mean you’ll be goku you’ll likely be nappa or raditz.
Just cos you pick viltrumite doesn’t mean you’ll be mark or thrag, you’ll likely be Oliver LMAOOO
English

@cryptopunk7213 It's a knee jerk reaction because it's threatening to be the final nail in the coffin for professional artists. Why would anyone hire an artist when any project manager with a Gemini subscription can shit out "good enough" assets.
And with so many AI bros cheering it on.
English

genuine question: why are the arts and gaming communities so fucking touchy about ai?
i get that 99% of examples are slop but we’re reaching a point where ai-generated media is indistinguishable for 90% of the world
that shouldn’t go un-acknowledged just because you want to hide behind a professional identity
ai isn’t going away, it’s getting (a lot) better, so why not try and figure out how to work with it to your advantage? isn’t that what a bunch of hollywood is realising now?
doomer: “NO THIS IS NOWHERE CLOSE TO PIXAR GRADE”
8 year old (target audience): “haha that’s awesome”
what am i missing?
Is this a 3D model?@IsThisA3DModel
no and this is nowhere close to "Pixar-grade"
English

@DBrown24601 @slimepriestess D between this thread and one in which i'm essentially getting dogpiled for having an opinion about books *gasp* i really don't feel the need to justify myself to anyone. just pick your side, humans are good at that. i'm getting a coffee and enjoying some netflix
English

@ColfieldHolden @slimepriestess Bro dropped a meme with zero source and you just accept it?
English

@slimepriestess wow, point taken. although a serial killer cult is a little different than 18 or so deaths mostly by suicide across the world
English

@TravisS42 @Gooboberti @rawrzbf A person should create for themselves, it does the soul good.
A person should not blindly believe "a system" is the blockade to greatness by nature of its existence.
English

@DBrown24601 @Gooboberti @rawrzbf The worst thing is that the average person can start creating for themselves. They can do the things he thinks the average person can't do. The average person can make something if they tried and put some effort into it. They could probably even build a structure if they did that
English

i genuinely wanna know why people think faster art = better art. would you want to buy a house that was made with time and consideration or something slapped together with sticks in five minutes lol
TBC@TBC_on_X
This would take Pixar 3 years to make. With AI it took us 3 hours.
English

@Gooboberti @rawrzbf Great point.
I don't want the average person building a house.
I want qualified professionals building a house.
I want systems in place to hold them accountable if someone cuts corners.
I want a house that will stand the test of time.
This isn't the gotcha you think it is
English

@IsThisA3DModel If your "creative tool" can actively choose to ignore your input, you aren't using a creative tool.
English

@iRexia_ @ashlee3dee Okay, but it's more condescending to assert the professionals couldn't do their job right because you aren't getting 60hz.
Also, attacking the people trying to make the game and not the publisher for pushing the game out the door before it was ready is proving ashlee3dee right
English

@ashlee3dee That's just so fucking condescending.
Sure gamers might not know shit about gamedev but they sure as hell know when a game runs like shit because you people couldn't do your jobs right.
English

@BRobo82 @IsThisA3DModel Just a heads up, trying to claim superiority over someone because you "haven't been rejected from a dev studio" is loudly saying you haven't applied to any. Nobody is convinced by this
English

@IsThisA3DModel Haha, I haven't been rejected or fired by any dev studio yet, so nice try. But I bet you have plenty of experience in that area, being a fan of those ugly, soulless dolls on the left instead of a real face. To each their own.
English

@djodjeee_ I'm 100% convinced this account is run by a marketing intern for an AI company
English

@Artedeingenio A pencil takes no cognitive load off the user. AI takes the majority of the cognitive load off the user. This isn't a difficult concept. A pencil makes no decisions for you, an AI makes hundreds of decisions for you.
English

My favorite complaint from AI haters is: "you didn’t do anything, the AI did it."
Name a single art form where you can create something without a tool.
Following that logic, the pencil makes the drawing, the brush makes the painting, the chisel makes the sculpture, and the camera takes the photo.
So the only art that deserves to be called art would be the one that exists only in the mind and is never materialized.
The problem is, if it’s never expressed, you can’t even know if it truly exists.
Schrödinger’s art.
English

@karatademada The difference between AI slop and AI art is that AI art cannot exist.
To me, art is the medium by which an artist communicates. Using an AI model silences hundreds of communication channels by the nature of its interface.
English

@DBrown24601 @TheMG3D Then you've artificially compartmentalized these topics in ways you should not have. 🤷♀️

English

I will refuse to buy anything that Generative AI touched
Morina Imelda ❤️@justfredimelda
Will you refuse to buy a book with an AI generated cover providing that everything else is human written? #writingcommunity
English

@BionicDance @TheMG3D Gen AI hides hundreds of communication channels from the creator by the nature of its interface. Too many decisions are offloaded to an algorithm.
It's the reason so many people bounce off of it, because it's artistically silent. (3/3)
English

@BionicDance @TheMG3D How I know I'm seeing the artist through anything differs depending on the piece.
In some works, I can hear the questions the creator asks through the flow of the story. In others, it's feeling how delicately they put together the world. (2/3)
