Got my brother to buy a Sord SMP80/x series manual, the only one I could find. He sent photos. There is almost no information about them despite being an Intel 8080 microcomputer that predates the Altair 8800. This tweet is probably the world's most detailed online resource.

It is amazing that you would say it is not made with anything AI, when it is probably using something like a CNN for object detection, and all sort of other AI methods.

I'm sure the account that they quote tweeted is a brainless account that will hype up the dumbest things. But that doesn't make these critics right. Saying "It's not AI, it's just AR" or "just algorithms" are simply jaw dropping sentences.

You can't use the term AI anymore because it has become fully conflated with gen AI in people's minds. That said, the comments on this saying it's not AI, it's an algorithm are such nonsense. It makes me wonder what they think and algorithm is or gen AI models for that matter.

@ThatHartleyKat @interesting_aIl Just AR... What do you think AR is? AI didn't start with OpenAI, the whole basis of AR is computer vision, an AI field since the 1950s and '60s. Yes lots of people now conflate the term AI with gen AI, but all these things are still AI.

I keep seeing people say it's not AI, it's an algorithm and I don't even know where to start. Computer vision is one of the classic AI fields.

@ShineOfDuality AR is driven by AI. The techniques underlying it are AI. This isn't a new thing. Yeah I didn't appear in 2022. It's not a synonym for things like OpenAI and grok.

@ShineOfDuality This is technically AI, it is a broad field that includes machine learning, deep learning, reinforcement learning, rule based expert systems, since it is using computer vision techniques, it just isn't gen AI, or the AI that people talk about now when they throw that term around.

AI is the overarching term that encompasses all of these concepts from rule-based expert systems to gen AI. It's been like this since the 50s. This is just an example of people conflating AI with things like OpenAI.
