Everyone talking like getting PR in Canada is that easy. Okay now 😁😁😁. Of course, the pathway is more straightforward but almost no one came to Canada in 2022 as a student and would have gotten citizenship.

@DBsway @TamiloreAdewuyi I responded to a PR statement. You clearly are ignorant about PNP processes across different provinces. Before OINP change their requirements soon, a master/phd student (certain courses) would literally qualify for masters/phd draws without a job offer upon graduation.

I did 16 months masters in engineering in an occupation in demand field in Ontario. I don’t know how else’s to explain this. Let’s just be realistic with peoples’ expectations.

Are you adding the waiting periods too, or you just want to win dialogue. Let’s be realistic on this, ITA alone takes months

Do the maths well. Let me help you 👇🏾 Jan 2022 — Started school (1 year course)
Aug 2022 — Finished school
Write IELTS, enter the pool (back when CRS was still around 450–490)
End of 2022 — You get ITA
Mid 2023 — You become PR Now calculate the 0.5 years spent as a temporary resident and what’s left from mid-2023 till today. It’s 💯 possible.

@dzachyang @TamiloreAdewuyi We’re talking of citizenship bro. But wait, how will they get PR in 2023? Even for 1 yr masters that resumed Jan 2022, it’s impossible. Run the numbers with best case scenario and see. Let’s be realistic on this please, people are reading and making unreasonable plans with this.

Days before PR are counted towards citizenship from landing, but 1 day is 1/2 for them, with a max of 1 year. If they get PR 2023, they’d be eligible sometime this year.

@dzachyang @TamiloreAdewuyi Student that started a program in 2022? C’mon nah, which PNP is that? Have citizenship already? Which time did they now apply and wait time? People that resumed 2021, with 1 year masters that got PNP and PGWP immediately after their program is applying this year 2026 mostly.

@TamiloreAdewuyi You forget PNP in some provinces are/were favorable. For students with spouses who gain work experience in Canada, this could help make it quicker. There are other ways. Saying almost “no one” is far from reality.
