...the valuation gap isn't the core problem. The core problem is that "decentralized AI" runs on infrastructure that can't enforce real boundaries around untrusted code. 👇

n8n filtered dangerous inputs. Attacker sent an object instead of a string. Bypassed everything. The real bug is ambient authority. User code could reach process and child_process. In an Endo Compartment, they simply don't exist. You can't exploit what was never granted.

We're excited to support @kriskowal and @marksammiller with a grant to make AI-written code safer! Their solution, Endo, is a comprehensive object-capability (ocap) fabric, used in production, to enable mutually suspicious software components to richly cooperate when things work out, and to minimize the damage when they don’t. In this project, they will add bridges from Endo into some modern AI code-writing tools, and show that practical AI-written code with vulnerabilities can run with a surprising degree of safety without loss of functionality.

One can’t expect AI to be safe when it’s given the keys to everything. Most AI-written code still runs w/ full user authority. 1 bug, 1 hallucination, real damage. Endo changes that. Capabilities are explicit. Authority is limited. AI gets only what it’s granted. Nothing more
