💭 This was something I could scarcely believe existed when I first heard of it: a virtually car-free bicycle route running a full 335 miles between two major American cities. 🚲 Sebastian takes us along his bike journey from Pittsburgh to DC. trib.al/naJk37Z

On my way to #Chicago to spend a long weekend with my adult sons. I’m a bit stunned that a majority of travelers seem to have give up on masking to protect themselves & others…

@311DCgov I have been on a hold cycle trying to report something for almost 10 minutes. This is ridiculous

How could Mississippi ignore the needs of the residents of its capital city and allow things to deteriorate to the point that its entire water infrastructure fails? The answer is simple: racism. cnn.com/2022/08/31/opi…

@DDOTDC @311DCgov this is the intersection of T & Lincoln NE- a block with 3 schools and the Batty Thomas rec center. Why is this allowed? So unsafe for pedestrians!

@robunderwood @wmata Good luck to you. You must not have to be around people much. If you had to ride the bus regularly like a lot of others - maybe you’d be in a different situation.

@DCKnitter @wmata The condition is call "I can't breathe with as mask covering my nose." I haven't caught COVID yet because I keep my distance from most people, wash my hands, go outside for fresh air and sunshine unmasked, and open my windows when possible. I only get the flu once ever 5 years.

On the G8 bus again for the first time in months and am surprised at the number of people not wearing masks. I’d guess less than 50% of us are masked. Even if you do t mask in your workplace- why wouldn’t you on crowded public transportation? @wmata

@Metrobusinfo Just because they’re optional doesn’t mean they shouldn’t be strongly suggested. Kudos to the 2 @wmata employees on my bus (including the driver) who were masked.

@DCKnitter Hello, masks are optional on Metro as a result of the Transportation Security Administration suspending enforcement. However, this is subject to change. Thank you for your message. -KA

@robunderwood @wmata Most people wearing masks appeared to have K95s. If you almost suffocated wearing a mask it seems you might have conditions making you even more susceptible to adverse outcomes to a Covid infection. Hope you stay lucky & healthy thanks to people who mask to protect you & others.

@DCKnitter @wmata We have data proving that unless it's an N-95, it doesn't work. I could barely breathe with a disposable mask; I almost suffocated with an N-95.

Follow up - as far as I can observe - the unmasked are all men - all the women I can see are masked. ..just an anecdotal observation

So tired of being called a newcomer & accused of gentrification. I have lived here for over 30 years, paid many thousands of dollars in taxes even when dysfunctional government didn’t care about our schools, pick up our trash or plow our streets. I love this city & I belong.

My dog would also love to run off leash here - but it’s not allowed. This is so irritating as a dog owner & neighbor @EckingtonCivic

For all the dog owners that abide by the rules - why this guy thinks he can right n his dogs off leash at Harry Thomas rec center where dogs are not allowed is beyond me

@UTDPainLab @IASPCongress We appreciate that this has been brought to our attention & we are working over the next few days to make the process easier. Emailing the IASP team will also result in a response.
