idk if y’all have ever been to Pittsburgh but putting 700,000 people into an area that is 50% made up of bridges is just about the hardest possible event to plan.

@29TimKing @VicLombardi They do have their own school buses, but high schoolers usually take public transit, especially those going across town. It's going to be a zoo as it is without school.

@VicLombardi City of Pittsburgh schools do not have their own buses. Students use public transportation that will be stretched to its max through draft weekend. Do you want your 3rd grader left at a bus stop for hours because all of the buses are full?

When does sports become too important? When do you cross that line? Is this the line?

@109876erss @mrmattox93 @LisaBritton Some degrees pay well and have jobs available. Some come with no jobs and no pay. Things like teaching, social work, etc are noble professions where there are jobs but no pay. Those are where I recommend finding a higher earning spouse. In other words, not for men.

@mrmattox93 @LisaBritton I’m a male 2nd grade teacher. 🤷🏻‍♂️. The problem is the pay. Men are supposed to be the breadwinners and support the family. Hard to do on 65k a year.

We did this with our engineering team in 2024. Called it "operational continuity planning." Hired 40 contractors at 60% of union salary, sat them in a room for 3 weeks of training, then walked into CBA negotiations with a slide deck. Union settled in 72 hours. The contractors? We kept 12 of them. Fired 30 of the originals anyway. Saved $2.1M annually. The NFL didn't invent this. They just have cameras on them when they do it.

The people least likely to have passports: the elderly, the poor, rural Americans, young first-time voters. The people most likely to have passports: wealthy Americans. This is not voter protection. This is voter selection. And when a senator suggested fixing it — his own colleague couldn’t name the last time the Senate amended anything. That’s the Senate in 2026.

It gets worse. I showed them my parent contacts for the one senior. I had made three. But they only included a general warning of low grades, and warnings about failing the first two quarters. I never warned them specifically about being in danger of failing the semester.

Got an email from admin saying I didn't contact the parents of a few failing students and document it, so now they might be given a passing grade. First of all, yes I did. But second of all, why am I given the role of a prosecuting attorney who has to prove they should fail?

@womanembraced @MattWalshBlog I'm not sure I would go that far. However, I do think that the single friends should be supportive of the marriage and not disparage the spouse when they are not around. Any single friends causing division should be tossed out.

@MattWalshBlog I’ve been married over a quarter century and that is 100% true. I’ll go a step further. Married people should only be friends with other married’s. No singles, same sex or not. This is harmony, and my decades of observation and experience speaking here.

It’s funny anytime we have this debate about whether married people should have opposite sex friends, it’s always those of us who’ve actually been married for a long time saying no you shouldn’t, and a bunch of people who’ve never been married, or haven’t been married for very long, insisting that it’s fine. Okay guys. Yeah just totally reject the wisdom of almost everyone who has actually done the thing successfully. That’s a good plan. I’m sure you know better than us.

My neighbor works 65 hours a week. He is exhausted. He works 25 hours at a grocery store. He works 20 hours at a warehouse. He works 20 hours at a fast-food joint. He has zero health insurance. Zero 401k. Zero paid sick leave. Why? Because every single employer caps him at "part-time" hours specifically to avoid legally having to provide benefits. He works harder than anyone I know, but on paper, he doesn't "work enough" to deserve a doctor.
