@SafeSidewalksDC @ankitjaindc @dcyimbys Data I've seen when I was at Council shows few apt bldgs were built bt 1975-2000. If we expand RC to 2010 it would add about 1K units. Not drastic towards either side. As always, a comprehensive balanced approach best.

@DCMeadows @ankitjaindc @dcyimbys That's probably not a good solution-lots of credible studies show rent control is a significant inhibitor of new housing construction. Interim compromise in DC would be an income requirement for rent control units & prohibiting charging market rate Section 8 prices for them.

I spoke at the @dcyimbys' Rally for Housing to advocate for the construction of more affordable housing to lower housing costs for Washingtonians. We need to replace the federal Height Act with a local Height Act and then pass a FLUM that reduces local restrictions on building

@SafeSidewalksDC @ankitjaindc @dcyimbys What you say does have merit bc a large part of rent control is Ward 3 & they stay in units for decades but they aren't super wealthy. Middle class is needed. DC can't be only rich and poor.

It's not just the 15th street bike lane, it's bike lanes across DC. We need protected bike lanes in all 8 wards, but we don't need them on every street.

Then again, who doesn't love reading a 435-page PDF campaign report?
