Prior to the commencement of the first phase of Census–2027, scheduled from 01.04.2026 to 15.04.2026 (Self-Enumeration) and followed by house-to-house enumeration by trained Enumerators from 16.04.2026 to 15.05.2026, a press conference was held on 18.03.2026 at 4:00 PM in the Conference Hall of the Directorate of Census Operations, Odisha. The conference was addressed by Shri Nikhil Pavan Kalyan, IAS, Director, Directorate of Census Operations, Odisha, with the objective of ensuring wider publicity and effective dissemination of Census programmes among the general public. A meeting was convened on 17.03.2026 under the chairpersonship of Chief Secretary Smt. Anu Garg, IAS at Lokseva Bhawan. Development Commissioner-cum-ACS Shri Deoranjan Kumar Singh, IAS and ACS (Revenue) Dr. Arabinda Kumar Padhee, IAS were also present. During the meeting, ACS (Revenue) emphasized the importance of the HLO activities and stated that the Collectors and Municipal Commissioners are privileged to be part of this important national exercise. The Training programme of Field Trainers in the District of Nabarangapur, Cuttack and Baleshwar conclude with a blend of classroom sessions and field practice, equipping trainers with essential skills in enumeration and digital data handling. The training program for Field Trainers in Ganjam District has been successfully completed. The training covered various aspects of Census field operations, including detailed orientation on enumeration procedures, use of digital tools, and data quality standards. As part of the practical component of the training, the trainees also undertook a field visit where they practiced dummy data entry using the HLO Mobile App, enabling them to gain hands-on experience with the application and field processes.
