I recently finished a BIG update for handballranking.com. The database now includes ALL competitive matches going back to the 1930s, rather than just the 1990s. Here's the top 10 from 1989, for instance. #handball

@DCTeamHandball @J_Kracken_D @ssn_maine @Juicewag There are no public acknowledgments of player salaries. Just different sites speculating or claiming they have inside information (which might be accurate) ▶️The French league publishes club budgets which can be extrapolated based on roster size

@TeamHandball @J_Kracken_D @ssn_maine @Juicewag I'd say fewer than five players make that (which is post-tax, not pre-tax like US salaries). Two of those five either just retired or have two games left in their career. BTW - If you want a giggle, ask Google AI the average salary of a handballer in the US.

@J_Kracken_D @ssn_maine @Juicewag Germany is clearly the top league and then France. I'd say the Danish League is 3rd. The Spanish league outside of Barca isn't that strong anymore ▶️Salary wise the information is mostly close hold, but very few, if any, make more than the NBA min salary of $1.1M
