Great breakdown. Conditioning may be a factor, but attention to detail is for sure. Coaching and hard work will help Matvei unlock his full potential. However, the team in its current state should look to give him as many reps as possible to develop in these areas quickly - as a TOP priority.

@BizNasty2point0 Rage bait. He’s 21 years old and adjusting to a brand new world. Has he underperformed to his standard, for sure. Us Flyers fans are just starving for something other than mediocrity.

A lot of people missed the sarcasm. Delusion Flyers fans bitching about Michkov ice time riddle me this. In the last 13 games played he’s played 9 of them over 14 minutes. He’s got 1g-1a and minus 6 in those 9 games. In the other 4 games under 14 minutes he’s got 1g-3a and plus 3. In games he’s played over 16 minutes this season the team is 1-7. I watched from the ice last night. I think he’s got potential but there’s a lot of work to do and if you think handing someone ice is the solution you’re not paying attention. He’s more productive when fresher given his skating isn’t there. Needs work and conditioning. He’ll figure it out but stop bitching about ice time.

@KKurzNHL The game is teaching Michkov a hard lesson, let’s hope he’s willing to put the work in and learn from it by over-preparing his mind and body to become an NHL star which is talents suggest he can be.

Al Morganti believes Matvei Michkov has regressed this season after coming into camp out of shape.

@charlieo_conn Honestly, I think it’s a good perspective even if it’s not what we the fans want to hear. Though, I do think it’s on the coaching staff to give him enough touches to display growth, especially on the power play.

If Michkov is going to get more minutes than that this year, Briere seemed to say, then he'll have to earn it. He'll have to convince Tocchet he deserves more. And if he can't, have a big offseason next summer and do it next year.

My takeaway from the Michkov part of my interview with Danny: He thinks 15ish minutes a night is perfectly acceptable from a developmental standpoint for Michkov, & he'd only step in if he thinks Michkov's long-term development is getting hurt. He doesn't, so he won't.

I spoke to an assistant GM last night and, in his opinion, Foerster, Luchanko and a 1st would be in the right ball park for Hughes. His reasoning: "Eichel trade Tuch Krebs 2nd Probably closest comp of recent history."

@xXDarkByDesignX In theory, the system should produce more scoring opportunities with a “tilt the ice” mentality, but is prone to odd mans the other way. The key is the fws have to work their ass off.

He wants to play a dump and chase "north" game that relies on winning low forechecks with numbers, but complains he doesn't have an F3 cosplaying as a D3. Tbh idk if Tocchet could draw a hockey rink from memory.

Vladar is undeniably having a rough night. Not gonna pin the first goal on him -- just a tough bounce -- but the other three? 2nd goal would have been a tough save, but he ends up out of position making it impossible. 3rd goal, needs to seal the post. 4th he just gets sniped.

@iamtheeagle1 @charlieo_conn Production obviously wouldn’t be the same playing with checking FWs, I don’t disagree there. Stating in general he needs to find a way to create chances with the puck on his stick. He’s noticeably less dynamic and very average this season so far. PS - I ❤️ MM39

The Flyers need their high-end skill guys to start creating more. You can give Michkov a bit of a pass tonight, because he's not exactly on a high octane line with Dvorak and Abols. But Konecny? He's with Zegras and Couturier. Flyers desperately need more from him.
