@jaysoromantic Thank you. I appreciate your analysis and response to me. This is X, so I wasn’t sure if you would call me a dumb MF and then block me. 🤭
English

@DD8gt it’s moreso implied i guess but everything about ruben’s anger and his issues make sense if that were the case, i don’t think they’ll ever explicitly say it in the show
English

@jaysoromantic Q: Did the show actually provide proof of the dad’s assault, or was it implied? I thought it was the case, but everyone is talking as it’s confirmed. Maybe i need to rewatch.

@Yung_Spengler @Leo9981247802 @JeffAnderson_ That is not something the DOJ established. Yes, there are racial preferences in admissions; it did not conclude that admitted Black students are unqualified. The reported median MCAT scores and GPAs for admitted Black students were still extremely high by national standards.
English

@DD8gt @Leo9981247802 @JeffAnderson_ “Blacks 29x more likely to be invited than an Asian with equally strong academics”
So no, Yale Med’s Black student body is not “equally qualified”.
Blacks with totally mediocre med scores are accepted which is literally unheard of for Asians or Whites

English

Yale School of Medicine Has a total of 553 students across All four classes.
Total Black students: 44. That’s ~10 per class.
Total Asian students: 157. That’s ~40 per class.
There are nearly as many Asian students PER CLASS as there are Black students in the entire school.
Black: 14% of America. Only 7% of Yale Med
Asian: 7% of America. 28% of Yale Med.
Who exactly is getting discriminated against here ?

At Yale Medical School, a black applicant is 29 times more likely to be invited to interview than an Asian with equally strong academics. Today, @CivilRights told Yale that its use of race in admissions is ILLEGAL—and that @TheJusticeDept will step in to enforce Title VI. justice.gov/opa/pr/justice…

@JeffAnderson_ @Bradybits @Leo9981247802 @DD8gt I'm good with fewer black doctors if that's the race neutral result.
English

@JeffAnderson_ @Bradybits @Leo9981247802 @DD8gt What if people complained that they wanted black doctors to be competent rather than let in due to racial admission policy. What would you say to that?
English

@Bradybits @Leo9981247802 @DD8gt Just say “I don’t want there to be any black doctors”
That’s much easier to say than complaining about 1% of the people that are in medical school.
English

They address this topic at Harvard’s admitted student’s weekend. “If we wanted the most competitive class in terms of tests scores, we would only select students from China.” I’m not a fan of discrimination either. But this is a selection, not an evaluation. And this is higher education in the US.
English

@DD8gt @Leo9981247802 @JeffAnderson_ I think there are things other than academics which can be proper considerations (e.g., evidence of character). Discrimination with regard to nationality happens with the national immigration policy. I am not okay with discrimination based on race. If you are, I guess we disagree
English

@DD8gt @Leo9981247802 @JeffAnderson_ Anything different is discrimination based on those characteristics that don't affect qualifications.
English

@bmcircle @Leo9981247802 @JeffAnderson_ They are largely merit based, but I’m fine with additional considerations. If admissions were 100% merit based, the class would be 80% Chinese and 2O% American. (And the American contingent would be 60% Chinese American)
English

@DD8gt @Leo9981247802 @JeffAnderson_ I think most people would like to see a merit based admission system. Those applicants best meet qualifications should be the ones admitted, not just those who meet minimum qualifications and possess other immutable characteristics that do not affect qualifications.
English

@Leo9981247802 @DD8gt @JeffAnderson_ a lot of med schools prefer a student who has multiple work/research/volunteer hours than a student who scored 4 extra points on their fucking mcat 😂
English

@bmcircle @Leo9981247802 @JeffAnderson_ We understand that black students have lower averages. No one is suggesting admitting unqualified applicants. I think Yale is fully capable of admitting qualified medical students.
English

@DD8gt @Leo9981247802 @JeffAnderson_ The statistic from Harmeet Dhillon says that, when of equal merit, black applicants is favored. Combined with Jeff Anderson's statistic, it suggests the black applicants are of lower academic merit on average. The analogy of white NBA players of lower merit being favored applies.
English

@KnicksLover_420 @Leo9981247802 @StequaviousB @JeffAnderson_ Lol, I don’t think that’s really happening. Don’t they still need to pass medical boards?
English

@Leo9981247802 @DD8gt @StequaviousB @JeffAnderson_ DEI has infiltrated the medical schools. Disgusting that unqualified blacks take the places of whites or Asians. Ridiculous. When I need a doctor I want the best not the blackest.
English

@DD8gt @MbarkCherguia Helllooo dummy? 18, 17, 16, 15 she needs a permit and hours on the road to get her license her mom failed her.
English

@DD8gt @angryantpile @JeffAnderson_ @grok “Patient safety depends first on competence, not demographic engineering—evidence on long-term clinical outcomes from forced diversity remains mixed and correlational.”
Owned by Grok. Lol
