@squawksquare It is clearly staged once again. Someone can explain me why the frond right wheel cover is missing if it is the car is coming directly from the production line?

@JustinWolfers Congratuliation! I looked for in on Deezer and I couldn't find it. Would it be possible to make it accessible there? Thank you in advance

Yesterday was a huge day for me in many ways: Launching Platypus economics, reading about it in the NY Times, appearing on TV... but the most nerve-wracking (and exciting!) thing I did was my improv class end-of-semester show in front of a crowd of dozens. Love these goofballs.

@DevinOlsenn The issue is not only for people that paid for FSD. Issue is for all buyers of HW3. The fact that FSD will never be able to run on it as an adverse effect on each HW3 car resale value. All buyers of HW3 should be received financial compensation.

My guess is this: Sometime next year they realize actually upgrading the computer and cameras in HW3 vehicles is cost/time prohibitive so they just buy people out, effectively refunding their FSD. If you paid $5,000.00 for FSD you get $5,000.00 back but lose FSD. Truthfully I think buying out is WAY easier than trying to solve how to upgrade the old HW3 cars, but what do I know. I do think the trade-in discount will work, but there are questions with that too.
TechGeek Tesla 🔋⚡️@JonBbC_TechGeek

Tesla confirmed (AGAIN!) that HW3 owners will get a free hardware upgrade, including the cameras. What’s new is a trade-in discount program for HW3 owners to get an AI4 car.

@Teslaconomics It makes no sense. If is was high margin business, Tesla will never sell those cab and easily find funding to have its own car fleets. Tesla will sell them because its knows that it will make more money by sell the car and monthly FSD subscription than by operating the cars.

I will be building my own personal fleet of 25-50 Tesla Robotaxis one day. And I will prove to the world that I can generate ~$1,000,000 per year in passive income from it. I really think there is no other passive income vehicle like this on Earth - better than real estate. The Robotaxi opportunity is coming, I can feel it. And it’s going to level the playing field for everyday people like you and me, kinda like what Airbnb did to hotels. All the doubters, just wait and watch me prove it in real time. I’m so ready.

It’s weird reading this when they literally have unsupervised robotaxis in operation right now as I type. I know it isn’t many, but to say they don’t have a robotaxi capable 35k self driving car when they literally do kinda sounds stupid. If Waymo delivers a 35k robotaxi at scale before Tesla does, you will be correct. Today, there remains a major gap in unit economics and scalability, which is what I’m acknowledging here.

“Tesla hasn’t even launched a robotaxi service.” “It’s not real because Tesla isn’t offering rides without safety monitors.” “It’s only one unsupervised Model Y in a tiny geofence in Austin.” “Sure, the service area and number of unsupervised robotaxis expanded, but it’s still only in one city.” “Sure, Tesla launched Unsupervised robotaxi rides in Houston and Dallas, but it’s just a small geofenced area.” Haters keep moving the goalposts, while downplaying what is happening right in front of their eyes.

@salajm @mitchdeg @LCI You can use google or your favorite IA and check. FSD is a SAE 2 level. Being rude will not change that fact. You have to learn to accept that wishful thinking doesn't work very well when confront with facts...

Breaking: Exceptional! This morning, there was a report of about 1’30 on the French news channel @LCI explaining that autonomous driving is now authorized in the Netherlands on certain cars from a certain manufacturer… And Tesla wasn’t mentioned even once (nor was the “FSD” system)! 🤔 French media are always the first to celebrate the slightest problem with Tesla or anything related to Musk, but when it comes to acknowledging a major technological breakthrough brought by Tesla, they absolutely must not mention it. Totally mind-blowing bad faith, but in this case, it’s blatantly obvious.

@salajm @mitchdeg @LCI I do not mix anything. The fact is that today FSD used in Austin is a SAE level 2. Let's wait end of May and we will see but I'm pretty it still will be legally a SAE level 2.

@DDM26393 @mitchdeg @LCI you mix customer owned cars and robotaxis. Robotaxis are L4 and needs to be - who would be responsible except Tesla?

@salajm @mitchdeg @LCI You don't need to be rude. It is just a fact. Tesla is not legally level 4. You're argument is the same as saying my 4 year old drove the car in driveway, it can drive. No legally he cannot. FSD is a level 2 ADAS and does nothing to be recognized as a level 4.

@salajm @mitchdeg @LCI The question is how level 4 is defined by law and how is accountable. To be level 4 as defined by law (as Waymo, Apollo Go, Zoox, ...), Tesla has to accept to be accountable in case of accident and Tesla don't want that. It says a lot... Tesla knows that FSD is not working.

@salajm @mitchdeg @LCI Wrong. Tesla did not applied for level 4 autonomous. Texas enacted a law related to autonomous driving in Sept 2025. By 28 may 2026, only Level 4 will be allowed to perform the service. We will see what happens end of May but I'm pretty sure Tesla will not be level 4 by then.

@DDM26393 @mitchdeg @LCI In Austin, they did. And they are starting to produce car without steering wheel for robotaxi. For customer cars, no regulation allows it yet

@mitchdeg What breakthrough? Tesla FSD has been approved as a Level-2 autonomy system. (As a cruise control must be). Tesla car doesn't drive themself. They are not autonomous. It changes nothing.

@mitchdeg What is interesting is to compare what price. BYD generated 4.9 bln of free cash flow in 2025 and its market cap is 132.7 bn vs Tesla FCF 2025: 6.2bn & a market cap of 1,357 bn. There no doubt in my mind that there no justification to give 10x valuation for Tesla compare to BYD.

Judging a company’s intrinsic value by its stock price is utterly naïve, but so typical of incompetent journalists. However, as those same journalists like to compare BYD to Tesla, let’s look at the respective stock performance: 1 year performance : BYD : -28% Tesla : +32% 5 year performance : BYD: +67% Tesla : +75% 10 year performance : BYD : +800% Tesla : +2200%

@mitchdeg As Tesla is not able to deliver its Robotaxi or Optimus. Elon storytelling is moving to Terafam but the facts remain. 80% of Tesla revenue is coming from its declining car business. It is just a struggling automaker.
