@Con_Tomlinson I feel like restores return rate on canvassers per vote earned was almost 1:1, reflections on how to improve must be done before the next vote

Andy Burnham won the Makerfield by-election with 55 per cent of the vote. But treating Makerfield as a national barometer is a mistake: many voted Labour to get rid of Keir Starmer. Reform underperformed, losing 16 per cent of their vote share from the local elections and another winnable by-election. The party ran a purely negative campaign about blocking Burnham, while their candidate, Robert Kenyon, was crucified by the media for crude jokes on rugby forums. Restore came in third with seven per cent, in line with polling. Some are celebrating, given it's their first by-election. But the party's army of canvassers could have delivered a better result if they had a stronger candidate. Nevertheless, Reform can't blame Restore for "splitting the vote", because both combined got less than Burnham. Instead, Reform needs to start asking why they are topping national polls but losing elections, and Restore must perform better next time if they want to force Reform to the right, or present themselves as a viable alternative. Now that the election is over, it would be a good time for introspection and an end to enmity. Some supporters resorted to ad hominem attacks, dishonesty, and dirty tricks during the campaign. Don't sacrifice your integrity and friendships for political team-sports.

My guess is that it was a mental patient on some kind of tour. That's why they haven't sectioned him, because he's already in a mental home (or whatever they call it). However, we should not let insane people be around kids and the carers/handlers should probably be charged.

The only difference between Starmer and Burnham is that the softer optics of 'call-me-Andy' won't embarrass British shitlibs at dinner parties and allows them to cope more. They dislike Starmer because he's a cold grey mirror into their own souls.

I'm quite stunned at how poorly Greens did in Makerfield. 308 electors understood that the Green Party had a unique selling point? What's happened to our core environmental message?

3. Normies will have been focused on the world cup, if they only get their political news from the press and the bbc they would have just voted as they usually do (or not at all as part of 41% of non voters). Bad news like Belfast and the gg report simply dont filter to them

Cont in a normal local election with the usual milk toast labour mp I am not sure this can be replicated. 2. Note the apocalypticly low votes for both the lib dems and greens, I think other leftists voted tactically to make sure reform didnt get in (also they hate starmer too)

Been thinking about today's Makerfield result and while it is pretty discouraging (especially after hearing so much about how strong restores ground game was) I am not sure it reflects a normal election. 1. Lots of labour loyalists truly believe that Burnham can save the party

People called me an idiot for saying Burnham would win. Now, despite my realism proving accurate, they say I’m blackpilling. Must be nice to be a totally unaccountable anon who never has to self-reflect. If I’m blackpilling it’s about all politics, but that predates Makerfield.

Horrible positive - just think how many migrant related atrocities are going to happen over the next 3 years That will surely guarantee Labour's defeat - right? The normies will finally wake up - won't they?

May as well just fold Reform back into the Tories. It’s the same people anyway. Give Rupert a role. Improve the economy a bit and let people play video games again while enjoying a slightly less steep decline. This is what the Normie wants, and the Normie is undefeated.

If Burnham becomes Prime Minister, he will be as hated as Starmer within 6 months. There are no solutions on the left, within the liberal paradigm. The solutions are on the right. I hope he enjoys sipping from the poisoned chalice and killing the party for good. 🤷🏻‍♂️
