@KnownAsSys I eventually just stopped playing D2's pvp entirely bcuz of the clear sbmm in even casual modes and playing on the same maps for years with no new ones got old. And trials was gone for a long time too. And new trials has barely any rewards worth playing it for these days.

@KnownAsSys Pvp was the endgame for a lot of people. D1 pvp was great, it had a lot of fun modes and new maps every dlc. Plus trials at its peak AND large maps with vehicle combat. D2 is a shell of D1 in this regard. Sweaty matchmaking, barely any new maps, no large maps or game modes.

Destiny's PvP was responsible for more of the game's social media presence than most will ever know. Without it, Destiny would've just been another washed up looter-shooter like Borderlands or Outriders.

@Geezaws2 Marathon played a large role in killing Destiny. A game no one asked for in an extrmely niche genre, that Bungie had spent years pulling resources from D2 for, only to launch to middling player counts that are now worse than D2 is at its lowest point.

Marathon did not kill Destiny. It seems to be the contrary. Marathon is the only thing that can save Destiny right now, and it might be the only thing that can save Bungie.

@Madam_Wizard Theres plenty of things they can do in a large universe like Destiny. Xivu Arath DLC, going further into the origins of the Vex, who were around even before the Witness, and making them the next big enemy. A brand new alien race, a rebel guardian faction, endless potential

Genuinely curious - what does a Destiny 3 look like to everyone? Where does the story go? Everyone agrees that D2 ended with TFS and it was a beautiful stopping point. So for those who want D3 - tell me your ideas of where it should go.

@DestinyBulletn Yeah i think we all knew Lightfall was rushed and strung together. Kinda makes me think of Joe Staten's original Destiny 1 story that was completely cut and we never saw any part of it. Imagine what could've been.

@WarhorseStudios Another KCD game in just 2 years? That sounds great but im praying it doesnt sacrifice quality just for the sake of releasing sooner. Kcd 1 and 2 were really big games with a lot of depth and detail in the world.

@lastchalice Absolutely 💯. Playstation already realized this and is walking back putting exclusives on PC. People might complain and pretend like thats a bad thing, but at the end of the day it works and Sony has sold like 70 million PS5s because their exclusives sell the console.

Xbox exclusive games. People try to box you into a camp so that you’re on one side of the “console war”, but it’s not always that simple. I have been an Xbox fan since the beginning. My favorite consoles are the original Xbox and Xbox 360. I do not want the brand to fail. I see it two ways: 1. Bring back exclusive games to your hardware. This will bring a ton of energy to your core fan base and start the very slow process of giving people a reason to buy the box again in mass. You will lose hundreds of millions of dollars doing this, especially when so many people on your platform will not pay for your exclusive games, but instead use Game Pass. It will take many years to see the full payoff of this choice. 2. Keep sending your games to as many different competing platforms as possible. Maximize sales potential and expand your reach. This is better for your bottom line, but will continue the process of sending your hardware line into obscurity as few people (myself included) will see the point in owning an Xbox. Less opportunity to make 30% revenue rips off of publishers on your own ecosystem, but greater sales volume. The Xbox brand has already been tarnished deeply over the last couple of years, so going with option one will be a harder climb than ever. Where I’m different than most on this discussion is that I am satisfied with whichever decision they make. I just want to play the games. Bring back exclusives, commit to them long term and give people a reason to buy the hardware. I will buy the next Xbox. Or keep sending your games everywhere and I’ll buy them on PlayStation or Steam. There’s a lot to lose in either direction. It’s not the easy decision many make it out to be.
