Today marks four years since the conflict in #Ukraine escalated. The DEC Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal was one of our largest ever appeals, raising over £446 million from the UK public to support people affected by the crisis. Winter in Gaza wasn’t always like this. Yaser* remembers turning on the electricity, warming up by the heater, and his mother making vermicelli rice and milk pudding. “Water didn’t fall on us,” he says. “But in the tents, it does.” Now, winter in Gaza can be unpredictable and brutal when heavy rain and strong winds tear through temporary shelters.
