Defection: Every party Peter Obi joins goes into crisis, he’s the problem – Reno Omokri dailypost.ng/2026/05/03/def…

@PeterObi Peter will surely lead Nigeria even if it will take a bloody or peaceful revolution to put him here. Nigerians are ready to hand the country over to Peter Obi and any one who wants to stop Nigerians will be crushed

Fellow Nigerians, good morning.
I woke up this morning after my church service with a deeply reflective heart, and despite every constraint, I felt compelled to share these thoughts with you.
Many people do not truly understand the silent pains some of us carry daily—the private struggles, emotional burdens, and quiet battles we face while trying to survive and serve sincerely in difficult circumstances.
We now live in an environment that has become increasingly toxic, where the very system that should protect and create opportunities for decent living often works against the people—a society where intimidation, insecurity, endless scrutiny, and discouragement have become normal.
More painful is when some of those you associate with, believing you would find understanding and solidarity among them, become part of the pressure you face. Some who publicly identify with you privately distance themselves or join in unfair criticism.
We live in a society where humility is mistaken for weakness, respect is seen as a lack of courage, and compassion is treated as foolishness—a system where treating people equally is questioned simply because you refuse to worship status, tribe, class, or power.
Personally, I have never looked down on anyone except to uplift them. I have never used privilege, position, or resources to oppress others, intimidate the weak, or make people feel small. To me, leadership has always been about service, sacrifice, and helping others rise.
Let me state clearly: my decision to leave the ADC is not because our highly respected Chairman, Senator David Mark, treated me badly, nor because my leader and elder brother, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, or any other respected leaders did anything personally wrong to me. I will continue to respect them.
However, the same Nigerian state and its agents that created unnecessary crises and hostility within the Labour Party that forced me to leave now appear to be finding their way into the ADC, with endless court cases, internal battles, suspicion, and division, instead of focusing on deeper national problems and playing politics built more on control and exclusion than on service and nation-building.
Even within spaces where one labours sincerely, one is sometimes treated like an outsider in one’s own home. You and your team become easy targets for every failure, frustration, or misunderstanding, as though honest contribution has become a favour being tolerated rather than appreciated.
And when you choose to leave so that those you are leaving can have peace, and you step out into the cold, you are still maligned and your character is questioned. Despite all your efforts to continue working for a better Nigeria and engaging people with sincerity and goodwill, those who do not wish you well continue to attack your character and question your intentions.
There are moments I ask God in prayer: Why is doing the right thing often misconstrued as wrongdoing in our country? Why is integrity not valued? Why is the prudent management of resources, especially when invested in critical areas like education and healthcare, wrongly labelled as stinginess? Why are humility and obedience to the rule of law often taken to be weakness rather than discipline?
Let me assure all that I am not desperate to be President, Vice President, or Senate President. I am desperate to see a society that can console a mother whose child has been kidnapped or killed while going to school or work. I am desperate to see a Nigeria where people will not live in IDP camps but in their homes. I am desperate for a country where Nigerian citizens do not go to bed hungry, not knowing where their next meal will come from.
Yet, despite everything, I remain resolute. I firmly believe that Nigeria can still become a country with competent leadership based on justice, compassion, and equal opportunity for all.
A new Nigeria is POssible. -PO

Atiku wanted to play a smart game, but it backfired. He knew that if he could get Obi to contest the primaries with him, he will dollarize the primaries and clinch on the ticket. He also knew that by then, Obi will be trapped to supporting him, because he will be barred from participating in any other Primary election pursuance to the Electoral Act. But what he didn't know is that anything his witch doctor told him, Obi and Kwankwaso witch doctors also heard. Let everyone carry their cross.

INEC Welcomes New National Commissioner, Reaffirms Commitment to 2027 General Election Preparations
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has formally received a newly appointed National Commissioner, Rear Admiral Jamila Abubakar Sadiq Manafa (rtd.), MNI, OFR, following her swearing-in by the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
INEC Chairman, Prof. Joash Amupitan, SAN, described the appointment as both timely and strategic, noting that it comes at a critical period in the Commission’s electoral calendar.
He stated that the appointment restores full representation for the North-East geopolitical zone after over a year of vacancy, thereby enhancing the Commission’s decision-making capacity as it intensifies preparations for forthcoming electoral activities.
The Chairman further highlighted the Commissioner’s extensive experience spanning legal practice, military service, and logistics management, emphasizing that her expertise will add significant value to electoral planning, security coordination, and the management of electoral disputes.
Prof. Amupitan reaffirmed the Commission’s commitment to its constitutional mandate, stressing that INEC remains focused and undeterred despite emerging challenges. He noted that preparations are ongoing for a series of electoral engagements, including by-elections and other scheduled polls ahead of the 2027 General Election.
According to him, these off-cycle elections will serve as important benchmarks in assessing and strengthening the Commission’s operational readiness for the Presidential and National Assembly elections scheduled for January 2027, as well as the Governorship and State Houses of Assembly elections in February 2027.
The Chairman urged the new National Commissioner to actively participate in the Commission’s activities, collaborate with colleagues, and draw on the wealth of institutional experience within INEC to support the successful delivery of credible, transparent, and inclusive elections in Nigeria.

The game-changing students loan scheme of President Tinubu’s administration has seen a total of N252bn disbursed in both institutional fee and students stipends since inception.
The scheme has continued to work seamlessly because of the carefully crafted nature including a transparent application design, a sustainable funding system among others.
Beyond ensuring an improved academic calendar for the students, it has also helped benefitted society in several areas.
A scheme that would lead the record books as far as President Tinubu’s legacy is concerned.

@Proud_Aboki The Nigeria Police Force is a joke. Nuhu Usman who is communicated to be in detention and visibly in handcuffs here still has his handsfree device on. Who's calling him now, or what song is he listening to.
English

BREAKING: A police officer identified as ASP Nuhu Usman, who is reportedly not a Muslim and allegedly used fake credentials, has been accused of killing 28-year-old Mene Ogidi in Delta State.
Reports say the victim came to a motor park to collect a package sent to him. After a search allegedly revealed a gun and ammunition, nearby officers were called.
Instead of taking him to the police station for proper investigation, he was reportedly shot on the spot despite already being restrained.
A viral video circulating online shows the young man begging for his life moments before he was shot.
The Nigeria Police Force has confirmed the incident, stating the officer violated police regulations and is currently in custody pending disciplinary action.
The incident has sparked outrage, with many Nigerians questioning why a suspect who had already been arrested was killed instead of being taken for investigation.

"When 50 Cent was still at his peak, he was supposed to come to Port Harcourt for a musical jam. And that same day, we were to hold a crusade.
I said, if 50 Cent comes and you believers go for his show, then something is wrong. I said, if he comes to Port Harcourt, I will not come.
He was already booked, adverts were everywhere. I said, if 50 Cent performs tomorrow, then God did not call me. I said he will not come. A boy even said, ‘Una hear wetin pastor talk, if 50 Cent no come, I go give my life to Christ.’
But hear the humbling part. He got to Lagos to fly to Port Harcourt and had issues. 50 Cent turned back from there and went back to America. Those who bought tickets for 50 Cent had no choice than to come for my program…”
Founder of Salvation Ministries Pastor David Ibiyeomie recounts how 50 Cent failed to perform in Port Harcourt after his bold declaration, sparking reactions online.
