This Labor Day, the Department of Foreign Affairs proudly recognizes the hands that build our country. Our progress and future are shaped by the perseverance, hard work, and dedication of all Filipino workers, in the Philippines and overseas.

Substantive first sit-down with our newly appointed National Security Adviser, Secretary Eduardo Oban Jr. We hit the ground running on aligning our foreign policy with national security priorities. Looking forward to a close partnership in navigating today’s complex global landscape.

Pleased to welcome Deputy Foreign Minister Olexandr Mischenko of @MFA_Ukraine to Manila. Conveyed my best wishes for a very productive meeting during the 2nd 🇵🇭-🇺🇦 Political Consultations which the DFA is hosting today. We hope to continue the positive trajectory of our bilateral relations and move forward concrete initiatives in sectors of mutual interest.

I thank GSIS President and General Manager Jose Arnulfo “Wick” Veloso for his visit to the DFA today. The GSIS remains a close and strong partner of the DFA, bound by our shared commitment to service excellence.

Honored to co-chair the 3rd Joint Steering Committee of the Philippines 2024-2028 United Nations Sustainable Development Framework today, along with @DEPDevgovph's @ambalisacan and @UNPhilippines' @ArnaudPeral. I reaffirmed 🇵🇭's commitment to a modernized, strategic PH-UN partnership anchored on national ownership, accountability, and measurable impact. Our partnership model is working. Beyond numbers, we are seeing results that promote empowerment.

Had a productive phone call with Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Prak Sokhonn, where we discussed plans for enhancing ASEAN's and the Philippines' role in promoting peace and stability in the region. I reaffirmed the Philippines' committment to its role as coordinator of the ASEAN Observer Team. Likewise, I offered the good offices of the Philippines as ASEAN Chair to provide a meaningful space for ASEAN Member States in finding a durable and peaceful solution to ongoing issues.

Great to be with the Manila Overseas Press Club (MOPC) tonight. From #ASEAN2026 and our UNSC bid to our regional and global partnerships, we are navigating the future with a proactive, principled, and agile foreign policy. We look to the press to be the bridge in keeping Filipinos informed on how our diplomacy secures their future.
