Honduras is a country affected with classical swine fever (CSF), which is a highly contagious disease affecting only swine; the disease causes a high fever and kills the animal within 5 to 19 days after exposure. While performing an Intensive Exam, West Palm Beach Agriculture Specialists encountered non-compliant wood packing materials associated with a shipment of an electrical transformer from Bahamas. Emergency Action Notification was issued to the importer, and the non-compliant wood packing material lacking the ISPM-15 stamp were re-exported to Bahamas. A penalty was assessed at the domestic value of the merchandise... $28,000.00!

The documents provided included a purchase contract indicating the vehicle had a declared value of $140,000. Open-source research revealed an average price of between $201,600 and $243,360!!!!! The vehicle was seized for multiple violations of US code.

What…YOU DIDN’T THINK “WEED” FIND IT! While screening passengers disembarking a cruise ship, @CBP officers became VERY aware of a strong odor, prompting them to investigate. Several times the passenger in question denied having marijuana. A detailed inspection of her belongings revealed marijuana inside a cosmetic bag. The marijuana was seized and a “Zero Tolerance” penalty was issued.
