#SAR CGC Kingfisher’s crew assisted 6 people aboard a 37-foot vessel taking on water near the South Jetties in Charleston, S.C., Wednesday. Two crewmembers boarded the vessel and dewatered it, stabilizing the flooding before commercial salvage safely towed it to Ross Marina.

And they're off! The Five Sisters Race is underway. USCGC Eagle, FGS Gorch Fock, NRP Sagres, and NMS Mircea set sail from New York this morning, Boston bound on the final leg of #Sail250. #FiveSistersRace

@USCG finalized 2 contracts for construction & delivery of 6 Arctic Security Cutters (ASCs), a new class of polar icebreakers that will strengthen America’s position in the Arctic.  The contracts are awarded to Bollinger Shipyards Lockport, L.L.C. for four ASCs, valued at approximately $2.2B, and Rauma Marine Constructions Oy for two ASCs, valued at approximately $1.1B.  The ASC program fulfills @POTUS’ directive to rapidly expand the nation’s Arctic fleet by delivering 11 ASCs, while bringing shipbuilding expertise back to the U.S. &strengthening industrial capability & workforce development at U.S. shipyards.
