If you’re not using AI you’re dramatically falling behind of what is possible. If you think AI is performing everything perfectly the first time you’re going to drive yourself into a ditch.

the dual error here is underuse and over-trust. the people not using it at all are leaving a massive productivity gap open. the ones who accepted the first output without review end up with confident nonsense. the right mode is high engagement — treat it like a very fast junior who needs checking, and the leverage is extraordinary.

@1730 @Austen Knowing how to phrase things. Having an intuition for context. Being able to tell when the AI doesn’t quite “get” what you’re asking for. These all take time using AI to notice and develop. Absolutely a skill Understanding Agents is a whole new world, too

@Austen "falling behind" is dramatic. the real risk isn't speed — it's that AI makes you confident in wrong answers. and confidence is way harder to debug than code. you won't even know something's broken until it's already in prod.

The tank on that truck is the emptiest place in the Solar System :) To keep 100 antiprotons alive for the journey, the vacuum inside the transportable trap has to be 10-100x better than the vacuum of space around the International Space Station. If a single stray molecule of regular H2 leaked into that trap during the drive, the resulting gamma-ray flash would have triggered the sensors instantly. They were literally transporting a portable void.

this new claude update is crazy

this guy let an AI agent handle his scam texts for a week a scammer asked him to buy a $500 gift card the agent spent 4 hours "driving" to target. sent status updates like "i'm at the red light now, there's a very handsome squirrel on the sidewalk. do you think he's married?" then it said "i forgot my purse, going back home. wait, this isn't my house" it sent a screenshot of a captcha to the scammer claiming its "eyes were blurry" and it couldn't see the buttons to wire money the scammer actually solved the captcha for the AI the scammer eventually typed: "please just stop talking. i don't want the money anymore. god bless you but leave me alone" total time wasted for the guy was 14 hours the script should be open source lol

The shift isn't AI replacing humans. It's AI handling the screen-time so humans can get back to thinking, creating, and deciding. The computer was always supposed to be the tool. Somewhere along the way we became the ones doing what the computer should do. We're just finally fixing that.

claude cowork is making me think maybe we’ll look back and it’ll be obvious that humans were never meant to spend their lives working behind a screen. we’ll see it as inevitable that computers do everything for us on computers and the future of work is cooler than we can imagine
