@DGodlessHeathen I am not scared but terrified in the sense that I observe basic human survival and stay out of trouble, crime that will lead to loss of life… It's the fear that drives most people to religion…

As an atheist, I completely understand the pull of believing in an afterlife… The thought of simply not existing anymore is terrifying… I might change my mind when I’m old and suffering, but for now, I desperately want to keep living and experiencing the world for much longer than one human lifetime allows…

How can we know for sure that “forever” isn’t in our past? Could “forever” already be behind us? Like how can we really conclude the universe hasn’t already existed for an infinite amount of time before now? Literally….We can never know!
