Arc: Towards an Economic Operating System for the Internet Cryptocurrencies are no longer trying to reinvent the financial industry from the outside, they are becoming the infrastructure. Over the past decade, we've seen an explosion of Layer 1 chains competing on throughput, fees, and ecosystem narratives. But despite those advances, most chains are still grappling with three things that truly matter at scale: Seamless user experience, integration with real-world financial systems, and stability as a foundational layer for global economic activity. That's the gap where @arc positions itself as a Different Starting Point. Arc isn't designed as just another DeFi chain, but starts from a different premise: If blockchains are to have meaning, they need to support real world economic activity, not just pure cryptocurrency use cases. Built by Circle, Arc is a Layer 1 architecture built on what Circle understands best: stablecoins, payments, and regulated financial systems. The ambition is clear, but far from trivial: - To transform blockchain into a neutral orchestrating layer for global value exchange. - Not just tokens, but payments, credit, capital markets, and real world assets. Infrastructure, not the story, Arc is designed as an open infrastructure for: - Financial institutions - Fintech and payment companies - Developers building Web3 applications - Issuers of stablecoins and tokenized assets Technically, it meets the usual requirements of EVM compatibility, sub second validation via Malachite BFT, and low, predictable fees. But that's not the story. The story lies in how those components are integrated around real world financial flows. The design focuses on Stablecoins. Most blockchains still operate with a structural inefficiency: - Native token for gas fee payments - Stablecoin for practical use This division creates significant friction for users and organizations not specializing in cryptocurrencies. Arc eliminates this distinction by using USDC as the fundamental economic unit of the blockchain itself. Instead of forcing users to connect between assets, Arc uses stablecoins as the default layer for: - Fee payments - Value transfers - Transaction settlement Technically, USDC exists in two synchronous forms: - The original balance is used for gas fees - The ERC-20 version is used in applications When abstracted, it's closer to Web2: → No separate gas token → No risk of volatility just to use the network → No need to manage multiple assets at once For organizations, this isn't an improvement in user experience, but a mandatory requirement. If you look at the direction of cryptocurrencies, the direction is very clear: - Stablecoins are becoming the means of payment - Tokenization is expanding beyond the native assets of cryptocurrencies - Traditional finance is quietly but steadily moving onto the blockchain Arc is designed for that world, not the previous one. The participants are not just protocols, but entities already operating on a global scale in the following areas: - Payments - Asset management - Market infrastructure These are organizations collectively handling trillions of dollars in assets and billions of transactions, not hypothetical future users. One of Arc's more interesting design choices is its focus on connecting local markets with global liquidity. With support for: - Fiat backed stablecoins - Tokenized stocks - Credit instruments - Money market funds Forex trading, liquidity provision, and cross border payments become native features rather than external integrations. Arc is also clearly optimized for developers from day one. The ecosystem includes: - Digital wallets and tools (e.g., MetaMask...) - Cross chain infrastructure (e.g., LayerZero...) - Network and data node services (e.g., QuickNode...) Expanding into liquidity and markets: Uniswap, Coinbase, Wintermute, Aave... Furthermore, integration with traditional parties from payment networks to asset managers demonstrates a deliberate effort to connect both sides of the ecosystem. The arc only makes sense if you accept a broader shift: - Cryptocurrency is not becoming an alternative financial system, but rather a platform system. - Within that framework, the winning platforms will not only be the most decentralized or fastest, but also those that align with existing financial principles and connect directly to real world economic activity. arc.network

I've been in devrel and dev community for a long time, and lately I can't stop thinking about what the new "developer first" strategy looks like in the age of AI some of you may not remember but Twilio and Stripe were the original "developer first" companies and developer education was their strategy. (circa 2014 infamous "ask your developer" twilio billboards) starting roughly around 2012 they were baked in to just about every web developer educational resource: tutorials (shout out @railscasts), example apps, in-person and online bootcamps in the world as you know, Stripe focused on world-class docs, case study / use case first and beginner-friendly SDKs. twilio went boots-on-the-ground / dev advocates at every web dev conference big or small, workshops on workshops i lived this firsthand...i taught at @trybloc as a web dev mentor for years and later spent around 5 years as a dev advocate at Square trying to convince developers to switch from Stripe APIs to Square APIs. HA. no small feat developers don't learn, evaluate, and adopt tools the same way they did 10 years ago. being a developer and being a developer advocate/evangelist, has shifted significantly with AI. so let's talk about this as the race for the agentic infrastructure layer plays out, this is a question i'm spending a lot of time thinking about, and one i hope to help crack during my time at @arc @circle

I think the Architects took @jerallaire’s call to action Let’s get our Agents ready for mainnet!
Barnabas@GbiayeB

You asked, we delivered! We just shipped a set of updates to our AI Agent. I am genuinely excited about one of them in particular. Our AI now supports multilingual prompting. that means anyone, anywhere, can communicate with the AI in their own language to swap, bridge, and perform any activity on @TowerExchange. I want to personally invite the regional leaders from Arc House to try this out themselves. 🇳🇬 @CarbzXBT @JerryOjumah, Yoruba, Igbo, Hausa even Pidgin English can now be used to prompt our AI to perform trades. 🇮🇳 @atomic_kurogane @Panchu2605. Indians can now interact with the AI and execute trades entirely in Hindi. 🇸🇬 @TxnSheng, Singaporeans can now use Malay and Tamil to prompt our AI and perform any activity on the platform. 🇻🇳 @Lecter_XFinance, Vietnamese is fully supported. swaps, bridges, any action, all in Vietnamese. 🇦🇷 @criptopoeta, Spanish is supported too. try it out yourself. 🇫🇷 @mous68881. Bridge transactions, swaps, all of it works in French. 🇹🇷 @ezgiyaltay, Turkish is supported as well. 🇨🇳 @rtk17025 @kuk47377341, our OG Chinese users, Mandarin and Cantonese are both supported too. I have sent each of you an invite code via DM. I would really appreciate your feedback 😊 Our goal is to onboard users from every corner of the world into @arc!

Some show up. Some show up to compete. Some show up to win. But a few…. A few show up to build with so much conviction, skill, and consistency that winning becomes inevitable. Those few show up to dominate. Which one are you? architects.

CARBZ@CarbzXBT

I'm excited to share that I've joined Arc as the new Nigeria Local Lead alongside @JerryOjumah Over the past months, I've enjoyed contributing to the community through educational content, ecosystem support, and helping shine a light on the work being built across Arc As Local Lead, I'll continue doing what I love most: supporting community members, welcoming newcomers, highlighting builders, and helping more people across Nigeria discover opportunities within the Arc ecosystem Thanks to all the team at Arc who made this possible and who have been keeping things running @bobbilee, @samconnerone, @silencexlm, @0xmikef I'm grateful for the opportunity and excited for what's ahead. Happy to do this with the current existing leaders and the more to come ☺️ If you're building, creating, researching, or simply exploring Arc, my DMs are always open. Let's keep growing Arc together 🥂

Lending infrastructure is building on Arc. @Aave V4 is exploring coming to Arc, to bring cutting edge liquidity protocol infrastructure to Arc’s stablecoin-native ecosystem. This would give builders: → Familiar onchain liquidity protocol infrastructure → Stablecoin-native lending and borrowing flows → Featuring Arc’s native asset set at launch, including USDC, EURC, and cirBTC More to come.
