So, in the end, we really had a brutal Clean & Reversal on the weekly candle for #silver futures and just a negative close for #gold.🙄 There’s really no way to spin such a harsh reversal positively in the short term: buyers held all the cards until Wednesday, with a truly glorious initial advance and a powerful breakout above the previous week’s highs, but failed right after pushing above the April 17 high. From there, price collapsed brutally, closing at the very low of the week in a relentless -10% daily move fueled by ruthless bearish momentum.🫣 These kinds of reversals are extremely powerful because they represent the maximum possible emotional swing, and greed and fear remain the true short-term drivers of markets. Breakout traders felt invincible until Wednesday, then nervous on Thursday, and today they simply got steamrolled.🤕 I suspect the April lows are now back in play for silver unless this Friday washout was already enough to completely kill off the sudden enthusiasm spike. Sure, nothing has changed in the long-term picture, but never underestimate the toll short-term losses can take on your mental health... unless your position size is small enough - or your nerves outright superhuman - to sit through these insane silver swings without a concern in the world.🥲
