Markita Barnes, 33, Milwaukee, was sentenced to 121 months in federal prison for committing a healthcare fraud scheme yesterday in the Eastern District of Wisconsin. According to court records, Barnes stole over $2.3 million from a Medicaid benefit program that was meant to help at-risk mothers and children when she owned a Milwaukee prenatal care company. The court also ordered Barnes to pay restitution of over $2.3 million to Medicaid following her imprisonment. FBI Milwaukee along with the Wisconsin Department of Justice (DOJ) Medicaid Fraud Control and Elder Abuse Unit, the DOJ Division of Criminal Investigation (DCI) investigated the case. Travis L. Ingram, 38, Mosinee, Wisconsin, was sentenced to 52 months in federal prison for distributing cocaine, maintaining a drug trafficking premises, and money laundering last week in the Western District of Wisconsin. According to court documents, police informants purchased cocaine from Ingram on multiple occasions during a two-year investigation. Police seized over a pound of cocaine, a scale, and other evidence of drug dealing from Ingrams’s home pursuant to a search warrant. Further investigation revealed that Ingram laundered over $1 million in illegal drug proceeds during a six-year period through bank accounts and casinos. This case was investigated by the FBI’s Central Wisconsin Narcotics Task Force comprised of agents from the FBI, Wisconsin State Patrol, Wisconsin Department of Justice Division of Criminal Investigation, Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, Marathon County Sheriff’s Office, Portage County Sheriff’s Office, Mountain Bay Police Department, Wausau Police Department and Wisconsin National Guard Counter Drug Program. Christian Garrett, a.k.a. “Tone,” 26, Madison, was indicted by a grand jury and charged with cocaine trafficking on Wednesday in the Western District of Wisconsin. According to the indictment, Garrett allegedly possessed approximately 280 grams or more of cocaine base intended for distribution. FBI Milwaukee's Madison Resident Agency investigated this case along with the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration, Dane County Narcotics Task Force, Madison Police Department, and the Wisconsin Department of Justice Division of Criminal Investigation. Daquan Thompson, 21, Madison, was indicted by a grand jury for resisting arrest, drug and gun crimes as well as damaging a federal law enforcement vehicle on Wednesday in the Western District of Wisconsin. According to the indictment, Thompson allegedly resisted, opposed, impeded, and interfered with Deputy Marshals of the United States Marshals Service during an arrest on February 24, 2026. The indictment also alleges that Thompson illegally possessed a Glock 23 handgun as a felon, possessed 50 grams or more of methamphetamine and cocaine intended for distribution, and possessed a firearm in furtherance of drug trafficking. Daniel L. Anderson, 56, of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, was sentenced to 22 years in federal prison for receipt of child pornography yesterday in the Eastern District of Wisconsin. According to court records, Anderson solicited and paid his co-defendant money in exchange for producing and sending him child sexual abuse material of an 11-year-old child, in Milwaukee and Memphis. Following his release from prison, Anderson will spend 5 years on supervised release. Anderson will also be required to register as a sex offender under state and federal law. #FBI Milwaukee investigated this case along with the City of Memphis Police Department. Following an #FBI Milwaukee investigation, Andrew Stanton, 38, Kenosha, pled guilty to threatening to murder a U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Officer who was serving on the FBI's Joint Terrorism Task Force this week in the Eastern District of Wisconsin. According to court documents, Stanton made his murder threat to interfere with his victim’s ability to perform his official duties as a federal law enforcement officer and to retaliate against him for the past performance of his duties. Stanton also posted violent messages on social media along with images of weapons and body armor. Wild 100s gang members Ronnell Bowman and Lawrence Turner were convicted on all counts by a jury seated in the Eastern District of Wisconsin in Milwaukee on Monday. Both Bowman and Turner were convicted of murder for hire resulting in death, conspiracy to commit murder for hire resulting in death, and discharge of a firearm during a crime of violence. Bowman also was convicted of conspiracy to commit violations of federal firearms laws, attempted witness tampering, and conspiracy to obstruct justice. According to court documents, Bowman and Turner were involved in a murder-for-hire scheme to kill a man in 2021. Bowman used money he obtained from COVID fraud payments to pay Turner and another individual. FBI Milwaukee was part of a collaborative investigation by law enforcement officers from ATF, the Milwaukee Police Department (MPD), and Department of Labor-OIG, and prosecutors from the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office and the United States Attorney’s Office. Kinex, a Waukesha medical equipment company, has reached an agreement in the Eastern District of Wisconsin to pay nearly $7 million to resolve allegations of false billings to federal healthcare programs for violating the False Claims Act. According to court documents, Kinex provided patients covered by these programs with medical braces that they did not need and then billed Medicare, TRICARE, FEHBP, and OWCP as if the braces had been necessary. A whistleblower brought these allegations to the attention of the U.S. government. Trevor D. Blackburn, 26, was sentenced to 30 years in state prison on charges of kidnapping and first-degree child sexual assault on Monday in Chippewa County. According to court documents, Blackburn traveled from Tennessee to Wisconsin on October 1, 2022, and kidnapped a teenager from her home near Cornell, Wisconsin which prompted a statewide AMBER Alert. Prior to the kidnapping, Blackburn threatened the victim with sextortion and distributed child sexual abuse material (CSAM) on a school network. The minor victim was recovered, and Blackburn was arrested on October 2, 2022, by local law enforcement. In addition to the jail sentence, the court ordered Blackburn to 7 ½ years of supervised release and ordered him to pay $39,041.71 restitution to the victims. Blackburn will be placed on the sex offender registry for the rest of his life. FBI Milwaukee’s Eau Claire Resident Agency and the Chippewa County Sheriff’s Office investigated this case.
