@adamcooperF1 Reliability issues makes this even more of a team sport than it has been in recent years. Clearly we all know the team matters, but now the team is being *shown* to matter, which is nice for the ones that are doing well.

Although a deal for Bahrain to stage the first test was the main reason F1 teams were happy to have a private 'shakedown' in Barcelona because they didn't want to showcase potentially unreliable new cars, having done just that in 2014. Now we're racing we're seeing those fears realised after years of bulletproof reliability. Four cars not even starting today was extraordinary, and Audi has lost one before the start at both races so far. @AstonMartinF1 has at least started every race, albeit knowing that its cars are unlikely to see the flag.
