The winning time for Golden Tempo in today’s Kentucky Derby was 2:02.27. Secretariat’s winning time in 1973 was 1:59.4. That’s a difference of 2.87 seconds. That translates to Secretariat beating Golden Tempo by over 17 lengths. Big Red’s record stands after 53 years. Legendary.

@JustinWStapley Literally everyone who is against the Electoral College is well aware of what it was supposed to be designed to do. We also understand that it is still not as good as a popular vote.

Under the Electoral College, the President is elected by the states and it is the states who choose to run popular elections to select electors. This is actually an integral part of the longevity of the union, because the great compromise ensures that small states are not subsumed by a national policy driven be the population advantage of large states. Remove this framework and why would a state like Wyoming stick around and be dictated to by a government that only represents the coastal enclaves?

When we look back on why Trump won this election, it won't be because he was a better choice. Kamala was more than qualified. She was one of the most qualified persons to run for office in a very long time. She offered Americans $25,000 towards their first home. She offered $50,000 to small businesses. Last night I posted about Secretariat’s winning time in the 1973 Kentucky Derby in comparison to Golden Tempo’s in the 2026 race. Since then, someone claimed his times are bogus because the horses were juiced. That any of the 1973 horses would have won yesterday. So ignorant.

@Mr_Lincoln Secretariat broke last and circled the field also. He ran every quarter mile faster than the last which is freakish. His early move in the Preakness defies logic. At Belmont, he had a clear path on the rail and broke 1st. The only time he ran the whole race, 2:24 1 1/2 mile.
