@DanHollaway Dan, I've long since gotten tired of explaining the logic of the EC, and why it's still essential. Now I just say Well that would require trusting California not to cheat and that's like trusting a Rottweiler not to eat a hamburger you put in his food bowl.

@annamlulis Well, that and the 10% of the 3.1 million dollar purse that's the winning jockeys share. You be pretty stoked if you just won $310,000 in 2:02.27

Wanker. This is what happens when you stop teaching civics in schools… a failure to understand why and how the US was established. But Pete’s not a moron… he understands why it’s a Republic… he just doesn’t care, and thinks the voters are stupid enough to buy his shtick.

@tactical_speed @L_G_Woody @Mr_Lincoln No doubt, in the first two races of the triple crown, he would have set the record except there was another horse 2 lengths in front. In Belmont Big Red got the clean path to lead out of the gate, Sham tried to run with him, no way. He would have won all 3, but chestnut freak.

The winning time for Golden Tempo in today’s Kentucky Derby was 2:02.27. Secretariat’s winning time in 1973 was 1:59.4. That’s a difference of 2.87 seconds. That translates to Secretariat beating Golden Tempo by over 17 lengths. Big Red’s record stands after 53 years. Legendary.

@garsincognito @JustinWStapley Yeah, but that would require trusting California not to cheat which is like trusting a Rottweiler not to eat a hamburger you put in his food bowl. Not happening Bubba. It takes 3/4 of the states to change the constitution. Good luck.

@JustinWStapley Literally everyone who is against the Electoral College is well aware of what it was supposed to be designed to do. We also understand that it is still not as good as a popular vote.

Under the Electoral College, the President is elected by the states and it is the states who choose to run popular elections to select electors. This is actually an integral part of the longevity of the union, because the great compromise ensures that small states are not subsumed by a national policy driven be the population advantage of large states. Remove this framework and why would a state like Wyoming stick around and be dictated to by a government that only represents the coastal enclaves?

@JakeMakin13 @JustinWStapley The alternative would require us to trust California not to cheat which is like trusting a Rottweiler not to eat a hamburger you put in his food bowl. Changing the EC is the most ridiculous idea liberals are running with. Even if we changed that. Trump would still be POTUS.

@JustinWStapley Why should Wyoming have more representation than a state with more people like Texas, California, New York or Florida? The electoral college served its function. Its served it well. Lets thank it, retire it, and move onto a better system where all votes matter

@JustinWStapley The voice of each person would be equal. The reason we have such terrible turnouts to elections is because so many people don’t think their votes matter. If you’re a republican in Cali or a Dem in Alabama you can votes how you like and your vote will not matter

@TRunLeashed @JustinWStapley Actually Wyoming would be one of the 33 states with a population less than the average population of states. The EC levels the field for their interests. It takes 3/4 of the states of change the constitution. WHY DO IMBECILES KEEP POSTING ABOUT THIS?

@JustinWStapley Wyoming would stick around for three reasons: 1. They are part of the richest nation on Earth. 2. It’s illegal for them to secede. 3. If they tried to secede the military would kick their ass.

@JustinWStapley So very true Justin. I got tired of trying to explain this. Now I just say "Well that would require trusting California not to cheat and that's like trusting a Rottweiler not to eat a hamburger you put in his food bowl". Simpler way of saying no way to morons.

@WickedSceptr @MBCompanyMan 33 of the states would be disadvantaged by a popular vote for president. It takes 3/4 of the states to change the constitution. STFU about the electoral college.

When we look back on why Trump won this election, it won't be because he was a better choice. Kamala was more than qualified. She was one of the most qualified persons to run for office in a very long time. She offered Americans $25,000 towards their first home. She offered $50,000 to small businesses. She offered intelligence and critical thinking. Yet, Amerca decided to go with dimwitted criminal with 34 felony counts, a convicted sexual abuser, a fail businessman, accused of being a pedophile who tried to overthrow the government. As we look at the absolute chaos trump has caused in one year, the is was it worth it? Who's benefiting from Trump being the president? Why didn't Kamala win?

Steph White… How you gonna deal with this? When CC scores 21, you lose to the upcoming Dallas Wings. When she scores 7, you beat the 2024 Champion Liberty. When CC plays, 1st round sweep. When she’s out.. Commissioners Cup Winner & 1 game away from WNBA Finals.

@gp_19701 @Mr_Lincoln 2:24 for a mile and a half is a twelve clip. 12 seconds for a furlong. A lot of good horses can do that..only one did it for twelve straight.

Last night I posted about Secretariat’s winning time in the 1973 Kentucky Derby in comparison to Golden Tempo’s in the 2026 race. Since then, someone claimed his times are bogus because the horses were juiced. That any of the 1973 horses would have won yesterday. So ignorant.

@Mr_Lincoln The record is inflated. Secretariat would’ve lost this race. His track conditions were set to basically concrete. Much faster but less safe. Monarchos’ race in 2001 is arguably better.

@Mr_Lincoln Secretariat broke last and circled the field also. He ran every quarter mile faster than the last which is freakish. His early move in the Preakness defies logic. At Belmont, he had a clear path on the rail and broke 1st. The only time he ran the whole race, 2:24 1 1/2 mile.
