@RyanO_ChosenCoy @infantrydort Agree. I was in Baghdad in 2005 when EFPs started to appear. It was the Iranians who brought them in. They had a devastating impact on soldiers and increased casualties per IED hit. It is good to see those who did this being sent to much hotter places.

@COMD7BDE The local community embraced the opportunity to see and touch some of the capabilities that the 7th Brigade provide. A great day, well done to the organisers.

The Gallipoli Barracks Open Day was a great opportunity to welcome thousands of people from the South-East Queensland community and show them the good work of the base, its personnel and their capabilities.

@ASArmyCadets The youth within Army cadets have the potential to be the future Australian Army. Provided with the right leadership and direction of the supporting staff, that potential increases greatly. Create confidence in the families through development of their children, a family journey

Great to be able to get down to Tasmania visit cadets and recognise the efforts of our team. In particular CAPT(AAC) Bune Keo, CAPT Jason Eddington and Jan Fleming (APS)for their incredible work. Great to see 66 ACU Kingston parading last night as well.

@DanCope25 @RMASandhurst Visited RMAS 2013 as part of the ANAOA build. Observing the history on the walls of the Serjeants Mess and noticed all the photos have mess members looking in different directions, is there a story behind this?

As we enter a new term, I think it’s important to recognise those who have departed. Cadre 22 the last two years have been a shining example as SNCOs in how they have instructed, coached & mentored our Officer Cadets. We wish them all the success going forward. @RMASandhurst

@3BrigadeTSV Equipment husbandry is key to mission success. Plus Soldiers who have ownership of equipment, have pride in maintaining its capability.

Getting out early in the year to start prepping the Headquarters nodes and vehicles for upcoming training. Great to see soldiers taking pride and preparing the platforms they use during the fight.

Absolutely loving this use of social media by a senior leader and warfighter. The ability to instantly and publicly recognise the amazing talents and achievements of military people is one of the great positives of social media. Thanks @ChowdahHill for leading the way.

Here are some of my wicked-smaht reactor warriors after lunch together today. Out of 450+ nuclear-trained professionals, they are my top exam scorers this month. Combat or not, they never EVER stop training. @TheCVN69 @USNavyNNPP

@HawthornRsl It does require volunteers to step up to provide the advocacy services. The current volunteers do an exceptional job in the majority of cases, they are becoming overburdened and also have families and lives to live.Advocate training requires a reboot to be fit for purpose perhaps

“It is a sobering fact that in 2023 for many veterans the RSL appears to be bereft of leadership, out of touch and out of ideas. From my point of view, the RSL is devoid of its prior authority and now selling out by delegating its advocacy duties elsewhere.“

@EODHappyCaptain This should be in every NCO and Junior Officer notebook or ‘aide memoire’, regardless of the colour of uniform. Too many see general complaints from the rank and file as a personal attack against their own leadership. It isn’t. Listen, identify trends, address! #leadership

You Could Give a Soldier a Bag of Gold, and They Would Complain About the Weight Soldiers complain; it's what they do. It's a good thing. If they aren't complaining to you, they are complaining about you. Collective complaining builds cohesion in a unit amongst the Soldiers. It provides insights into what your Soldiers are going through and where to make fixes. Soldiers should complain. It means that they trust their leadership enough to take their problems to them. And leaders should listen. If they hear enough complaints about the same topic, they should look into it and take action. Walk the motor pool while your Soldiers are doing Monday maintenance . Go eat a meal with them in the chow hall. Be where your Soldiers are and listen to them complain. Then make notes and try and fix those things.
