One mission, three air forces 🇦🇺 🇺🇸 🇯🇵 The skies over Northern Australia are hosting a new chapter in trilateral air cooperation with Exercise Southern Cross 26. Conducted from RAAF Bases Darwin and Tindal, Southern Cross aims to enhance fifth-generation integration and interoperability between the @AusAirForce, @PACAF and @JASDF_PAO. Aviators have been conducting forward arming and refuelling point operations, providing them with experience in agile replenishment of fighter aircraft using shared platforms and equipment. From the laboratory ➡️ military operating environment Aladdin, an air delivery drone, has been launched from a RAAF C-130J Hercules. The drone is capable of delivering up to 35kg of communication equipment, relief supplies and other critical payloads with pinpoint accuracy on land or at sea. Conducted during Exercise Jericho Dawn in 📍 Cultana, SA, the launch marked a milestone for Air Force innovation. #YourADF

No limits. 🚀 A @Australian_Navy Standard Missile 2 was fired from the Derringer trailer-mounted Expeditionary Launch System during Exercise Taipan Strike 26 at the 📍 Woomera Test Range, SA. Exercise Taipan Strike 26 is an active missile defence test activity. The exercise reduced technical and integration risks, and validated system performance of a candidate option for a future ground-based medium-range air defence solution. Taipan Strike is an @AusAirForce sponsored activity conducted in collaboration with the Navy, Capability Acquisition and Sustainment Group, US government agencies, and US and Australian industry partners. #YourADF @USNavy

Two @rsipf_rbx EOD technicians have joined Operation Render Safe to assist with a technical reconnaissance of 📍 Nanumea Lagoon, Tuvalu. ⚓🌊 Sergeant Patterson Filiga and Police Constable Barnabas Talo have disposed of tens of thousands of munitions over their decades-long careers. “We have experienced situations where people have been injured and lives have been lost. It’s a good thing to be a part of Render Safe so we can contribute to the safety of the Pacific and take care of the same problems back home,” Sergeant Filiga said. One of @AustralianArmy’s newest fixed‑wing reconnaissance drones took flight on Exercise Southern Jackaroo, identifying targets in depth and enabling drone and artillery strikes on enemy positions. The Vector AI, made by Quantum Systems, can map environments in real time and uses AI-enhanced software to detect and track objects while flying more than 60 kilometres. 💥 Rolling forward under fire. As part of Exercise Southern Jackaroo, soldiers from the 3rd Combat Service Support Battalion (3 CSSB) put their mounted live-fire skills to the test at the 📍 Townsville Field Training Area. Operating from protected platforms, troops engaged targets using MAG 58 machine guns and F89 Minimi light support weapons. Combined arms teams support trench assaults in Townsville 🔥 During Exercise Southern Jackaroo 2026, the 3rd Combat Engineer Regiment (3CER) operated as part of a combined arms team. The regiment integrated with the 3rd Battalion, The Royal Australian Regiment (3RAR), the 2nd Cavalry Regiment (2 CAV) and the 5th Aviation Regiment (5 Avn Regt). Battlegroup ANZAC prepares for the ultimate test of robotic and autonomous systems. The battlegroup conducted Exercise Black Prince 3 at the 📍 Cultana Training Area in South Australia from 18 to 29 May. They deployed capabilities including the Callisto 50 heavy-lift UAS, Quantum Vector UAS, single-use D-40 assault drones, and Jaeger UGVs. The exercise finished with a bang: Army executing its first Uncrewed Ground Vehicle detonation and conducting live First Person View Uncrewed Aerial System strikes. Black Prince readied forces for Project Convergence Capstone 6, happening this month at the United States Army National Training Centre. The battlegroup included personnel from the 1st Armoured Regiment, 1st (Australian) Division, 2nd Division, Forces Command and the New Zealand Army. #YourADF
