We are being told this particular diversity program received a grant from the @BloombergDotOrg to promote the diversity of views. This looks like brainwashing, not critical thinking to us.

@kaiswonderlandd @teswoketoi Just know that I’m not arguing for the Link to be considered heavy rail. It’s definitely not. My point is that these distinctions are often arbitrary and meaningless to the average person. Who cares if it’s technically light rail when the rider experience is closer to a metro.

@kaiswonderlandd @teswoketoi I don’t think you’re getting it. No one’s trying to call the Link a metro cuz it’s not one. But if it offers a similar experience to rapid transit, do these often-times arbitrary distinctions really matter to the average rider?

@DJTechYT @teswoketoi only americans would call this a metro though. Take anyone from a city with an actual metro and they would call it a suburban line/light rail/underground tram

@kaiswonderlandd @teswoketoi 4-5 min for the 13 most important stops, then 8-10 on the branches. Again, keep in mind that the system didn’t even exist 17 years ago and the most crucial extensions didn’t even open until less than a year ago. Also, Berlin U-Bahn tops out at 72 km/h. Paris Métro at 80 km/h.

@DJTechYT @teswoketoi 4-5 minutes for how many stops? and 38 million riders is laughably small for a supposed “metro” line. 90 is nothing to be amazed about either considering that is the regular operating speed of TRAMS in europe.

@kaiswonderlandd @teswoketoi Frequency is about 4-5 minutes on the trunk line right now. 38M riders a year on a system that is younger than me. Goes up to 55 mph/90 km/h. 20 hour service (not even the Paris Métro has 24 hour service). All comparable to many rapid transit systems.

@DJTechYT @kennywingism @SouthApe It’s pretty easy to detect WiFi. Are you afraid of WiFi? These people are afraid of bacteria. They didn’t even try to detect it. They prefer randomly being afraid.
