Adapting to the Future: AI in Architecture & Engineering Last week, we had an insightful session with @kibuukaMarkB who is a Graduate Architect, Head of Studiosix, on how Artificial Intelligence (AI) is transforming the way we work as architects and engineers. @DKSafeSpace

Last week myself & @SkillsKlinic got the opportunity to facilitate a memtorship session with young people at university, focusing on the School-to-Work Transition through mentorship and internship targeting Technicians in the Construction Sector. I emphasized the importance of:

What does it really take to stand out in a job interview? This question guided an insightful session led by @HasfaMago , and here are some key takeaways that left us thinking differently about job hunting and career growth: @DKSafeSpace @MadamArchitectt

A representative from @UIPE_Uganda that’s to say Eng Henry Mpuuga pitched to our technicians about UIPE and what it is all about. They learned that Science is the acquisition of knowledge through research whereas Engineering is the use of science to solve problems. @ERBUganda

In Arch. Regina Nnaggenda’s session, they learned that architecture is both a science & an art & that it involves designing of spaces She pointed out how today it is influenced highly by external cultures, especially the western & this has led to chaotic designs @UgArchSociety

Yesterday, I spoke at the National Innovation Hub, thanks to @BlueprintsUG We dived into excelling at job interviews & workplace etiquette with brilliant young graduates in construction. #YouthEmpowerment #CareerGrowth #InnovationHub #Uganda

Rebecca Abitimo @Becca_abitimo a registered Valuation Surveyor from Institution of Surveyors of Uganda addressed the roles of valuation surveyors which include inspecting properties as well as measuring and assessing physical features and conditions.

@miko_noellah covered interior design urging us to build a career path and have clear direction. She also told us the ways of fulfilling this in the world of interior designing like joining a design firm, working for a furniture or interior product company and freelancing.

During Gideon Sekiwano's session on interior designing he hinted about what it takes to bridge the gap between field and studio practice i.e. skillsets, network and passion for the craft.

@EdmundWalusimbi a decorated TEDx Speaker & Author of Enhancing School to work transition talked abt balancing work & passion as he hinted on how he juggled his then days of internship & seeking public speaking opportunities.

Mr David George shared on Networking & industry connections in which he taught us abt likeability of a person in the world of work & social IQ which covers being able to read the environment, being present, authenticity, communication & clarity & connecting with people

From a session by ROSE LILIAN NANSAMBA a Registered Quantity Surveyor by Institution of Surveyors of Uganda , Technicians learnt about the different types of surveyors i.e. quantity surveying, land surveying, valuation surveying and mining surveying.

@JudithMajwega a four year architecture student passionate about self-discovery and the wonders it has attended for her shared with us how we can deliberately grow into discovering what we are capable of archiving. How we can discover what fuels our souls to live deliberately.

@EmmaKayanj took us through what life would look like after school. What to expect and how to go about it. He shared ways we can create our own connections and networks by attending corporate and networking events. @BlueprintsUG
