@Feljin_J When we bought our place the back garden was being used as a car park - cost us thousands to get the concrete removed and topsoil put back in. I wonder is there a way to show people that getting this done seriously devalues your house price?

Empty loading bay on the left.
Truck completely blocking the pavement on the right.
Why do they think this is acceptable?? #zeroenforcement @gardainfo

@shalewhale13 @DublinCommuters @IBIKEDublin @dlrcc I’ve heard a few stories of bikes parked on the street getting robbed lately so don’t risk it!

Similar distance as Dublin to Drogheda / Navan / Newbridge / Wicklow.
Imagine those were less than 15 mins trips.

Osaka to Kyoto. 14 mins on a bullet train, for less than €10, or 29 mins on another bullet train option with a few stops for less than €4. Or by road, 55 mins with €22 in tolls, or 1 hour and 37 mins without tolls. Japanese public transport is phenomenal.

Way way way more of this please.
An Garda Síochána@GardaTraffic
The Roscommon Roads Policing Unit were on patrol whe they found this car parked on the footpath in Roscommon today. It completely blocked the footpath for everyone else on what is a extremely busy road. They were issued a €80 fine. #SaferRoads

@__kbaker__ @dlrcycling I can’t find the link to do the survey, am I missing something?

Bring back towing and impounding cars that cause a public block like this.

Out for a walk this morning with my 87yr old dad. He has dementia and could have done without this. Called in on my way home half an hour later as car was still on the path. Owner genuinely didn’t see the problem.

‘it has been recommended that parking in a cycle lane, bus lane, or on a footpath should be considered as “parking in a dangerous position” and see a motorist given a fine and three penalty points on their licence’
It’s already illegal lads

@KitTayl58938936 @mhantain @higginsdavidw @MakeWayDay The correct term is someone with a disability.
And what about the elderly person using a walking frame who had to manoeuvre around this car?
Plenty of parking for people with disabilities in this town, and plenty of space to drop off without going on the pavement here.
English

@mhantain @DL_Blockers @higginsdavidw @MakeWayDay Give it a rest. My 65 yr old husband who died last month asked a Porter for a wheelchair saying he was too handicapped (from cancer) to walk into hospital. I had to park in a "handicapped space" to get him near.

@guineapig2d There’s literally someone in the picture standing on steps to the side of the pavement to avoid being run over, on the pavement. That’s beyond blocking, it’s dangerous driving on a pavement. I’m beyond irate.
English

@DL_Blockers City has to work if it isn’t blocking people let it be plenty to get irate about this isn’t it
English

@EngageYourMind Yep, there’s zero enforcement that I can see.
English

@DL_Blockers In addition to cyclists & Escooterists endangering pedestrian safety on footpaths & elsewhere, this is another area that needs addressing. The rare, yet arbitrary, fining of motorists for parking on footpaths needs immediate addressing.
English

@guineapig2d Cars already get the majority of public space, they don’t get our pavements too. Totally unacceptable.
English

@higginsdavidw It was driving across the pavement, while pedestrians (including a lady with a buggy and one with a walking frame) tried to get around. They were getting to and from a different part of the pavement to park there. All of which is completely unacceptable.
English

@DL_Blockers Is this car driving or parked?
Never seen a car parked like this (working on this street in DL for past 8 years).
