Well what a way to end the week at the @FIRE_Editor Excellence Awards. Nine nominations and 3 awards - incredible testament to the work that goes on across @manchesterfire every day from Protection, Prevention, Response and everything in between.

Although he says the 'F I R E' was unintentional it nails it Find the right people Induct them well and make first impressions count Realistic timelines for development Encourage and support

The highlight of the day though was @manchesterfire own fantastic Adam Postlethwaite @DLineTitan_94 talking about the work we have done to support our most recent intake of colleagues to develop and fulfill their potential

Really interesting day with FRS Protection colleagues at the @NFCC_FireChiefs workshop looking at how we can best support #FireSafety Regulators to ensure retention. Thought provoking discussion and debate and some great ideas raised.

It's only Tuesday but it's a busy week already for Protection @manchesterfire for training & business engagement. We started our first pilot of a new Level 2 #FireSafety course and welcomed 20 Apprentices who passed out last week to our Protection Training & Development Suite

@HotpointUK @HotpointSupport help needed. Followed instructions to clean dryer but induction unit won’t go back in. Tried for days but just won’t go back in at all? Help? Ideas?

Also a huge shout out to @MathewAlsop who has work tirelessly to develop a new “Development and Competency Plan”, a new simpler process for gaining signatory rights all whilst continuing to support his colleagues. He’s also done a good job keeping me calm when needed!! #teamwork

Can’t believe this is 12 months ago! So much #firesafety #training has been developed and delivered since then too. Friday saw the end of the first 2 weeks of the #sfj Level 3 Certificate being delivered to a cohort of 16 new #regulators for @manchesterfire

Further FDS training, the delivery of the first GMFRS developed Level 4 diploma modules, Level 5 and much more! The new Protection suite is booked out pretty much every day between now and April! Lots to do but it will all be worth it and help our Regulators develop.

There is plenty more training planned for Q3 with internal development sessions already booked, a further 12 sessions to FDS officers as well as some external training booked to be delivered in GM and remotely. Q4 already looks busy but exciting with a pilot of Ops crews training

And the 'Protection Training and Development Suite' is already being put to use. A busy week next week!
