One of the most jarring things about adulthood is the realization of how many truly incompetent people are in the most important jobs. When I was a kid, I just assumed everyone “important” was smart or they wouldn’t be important. Boy, was that fucking wrong.

NCAA has stressed the new eligibility rule is not 5-for-5. Here’s why. The rule is not guaranteeing all athletes 5 years of eligibility. It’s standardizing a 5-year window for eligibility. But if you enter school after your window opened, you’re not guaranteed 5.

NEWS: Big Ten officials are expected to discuss in the upcoming days a league-wide mandate to not play Texas Tech in any sports, per three Big Ten sources. This is in the wake of Nebraska AD Troy Dannen informing his staff today that they aren't allowed to schedule Texas Tech.

This quote from an anonymous Big 12 coach is incredible. That’s exactly what the ruling today means. If the NCAA can’t win the appeal or severely punish Texas Tech for this, players gambling is not only allowed now, but they’re probably going to intentionally use it.

The judge's decision on Brendan Sorsby is indicative of where we are. We've confused compassion & empathy with excusing behavior. This is what happens when the person who broke the rules is increasingly viewed as the primary victim. Accountability is now cruelty. Embarrassing.

There really aren’t any rules. You just go to court. If it fails, go to court again until a judge says you’re all set. Want a 7th year? Sure Broke rules? Ahhhh, it’s fine. There AREN’T any rules.

A Lubbock, Texas judge has ruled quarterback Brendan Sorsby eligible to play college football for Texas Tech despite having gambled on the sport.

This ruling calls for suspicion of the integrity for fair competition in every college football game moving forward. Sorsby should never be allowed to play an NCAA game again for betting on his own team. Major CFB gets more broken and bends to money every passing day.
