@DXFromYT @giancar73012035 I love this game, and I hope they can keep the lights on as long as possible. There’s still so much to come, if enough people give it a proper chance. The barrier to entry is getting pretty high, but it’s a really challenging and rewarding experience. It’s a rollercoaster.

It's worth noting that at this point in the game's lifecycle, Highguard only had 4,524 players left on Steam. Marathon has over 10 times that right now, and those are all players who paid to get in. It was shortsighted to hitch one's wagons on Marathon being Concord 3.

@riseupmerc @DXFromYT They knew what this would be when they made it. Which is why for the entirety of its development, minus right before release, only 30 people built it. These numbers are the best for any paid pvp shooter on the market, outside of Arc. And no, steam is not it top platform.

AAA Live Service game from once legendary (no longer) studio Bungie, and published/marketed by Sony cant even manage to consistently top 50k daily concurrents on their biggest platform.
For the amount of money spent on the studio, Sony must be unhappy. Pretty sure we still havent seen its settling point for player counts either.

@gmeinersYT Gold items in this game are intentionally OP to make them worth it. Cryo is loaded with them. If it was always open and farmable, people that memorized it would steamroll the game . It would fuck the economy up as well as the balance

Gonna keep an open mind about CRYO & Ranked being 'Weekend Only', but this just seems like a classic Bungie move to me. Just illogical decision making.
Seems like they are limiting access to make it feel more elusive and drag out content longer. Maybe there is a good reason tho 🤷♂️

We will just need to see how it goes but I think this will turn out better than most think. Even Destiny, raids could only be rewarded 1 a week

Marathon doesn’t seem to be doing well on Xbox. The official Xbox most played games chart lists Marathon at #77. Not being in the top 25 shortly after release is concerning, so this is very concerning. The list is normally correct, but I hope this is an error. I’m proud to be one of the few Xbox runners 🫡 #Marathon #Xbox

@supMitchh Raids are technically gated. You can only complete for the rewards once a week. In an extraction shooter, you cannot do that. What he is saying is right. Imagine all the gold OP items. If you got good at it and just farmed it all the time, it would fuck game balance.

@ZoneXbez @TheSnazzzyRock I think it is Moreso about the economy. Due to the difficulty and how busted (fun) the gold items are and how impactful they are, I bet cryo is loaded with them. And running it only forever would become an issue with teams steamrolling with their cryo rewards
