STATEMENT: WFP is deeply concerned by recent notifications from the US administration indicating that funding for emergency food assistance in 14 countries has been terminated. 🔵If implemented, this could amount to a death sentence for millions of people facing extreme hunger and starvation. We are in contact with the US administration to seek clarification and to urge for continued support for these life-saving programmes. 🔵WFP is grateful for the contributions it receives from the US and all its donors. Our staff continue to work tirelessly to reach vulnerable communities with vital food assistance in hunger hot spots around the world.

.@WHO and partners transferred 14 critical patients and 11 companions from Kamal Adwan Hospital to Al-Shifa Hospital - as part of a two day mission, amid hostilities and access restrictions, which forced the team to stay at Kamal Adwan hospital over night with heavy bombardment in the vicinity of the hospital. This was a fourth attempt to reach Kamal Adwan. Despite an initial agreement, the delivery of critical medical supplies, blood, and fuel, which are essential for keeping Kamal Adwan Hospital operational, were denied just a few hours before the mission departure. The health situation in northern #Gaza is horrific, with precarious access to essential health care. Health care continues to be attacked and hospitals starved of supplies and fuel, while WHO’s ability to regularly reach health facilities is severely compromised due to consistent mission delays and denials. We urge for a sustained and safe humanitarian access. Ceasefire!
