@hail2snerd lol horrible take. Drew Allar by the very definition of your analysis is the exact same. Let’s agree that neither are the answer. The NFL is a QB league. If you want to win a SB you have to have one not 3 perennial back ups.
It’s time to have a serious conversation about Will Howard.
Howard’s chance of being a Starting NFL QB is close to zero. The guy isn’t an NFL talent. He was a 5th year senior playing in an insanely talented team. With one of the great offensive minds of CFB as his coach. He lacks arm talent and is extremely limited as a thrower.
Yinzers love the underdog, and the backup QB for some weird reason, and I know tom Brady was a 6th rd pick and Purdy was the last pick of the draft. Those are called outliers. Every 20 year type things.
The best comparison I can come up with for will howard is a poor man’s Kenny Pickett. He’s that bad!

Which legendary wide receiver does he remind you of…?
🧐🧐🧐
It’s amazing how so many people love this pick. The Steeler QB situation is a disaster! It has been for several years leading up to Big Ben’s retirement. Rodgers is not the answer, Rudolph is not the answer and neither QB’s drafted one year apart are not the answer. Neither of the latter were touted as franchise QB’s but we want to now act like we got our guy? That’s a joke
Personally, I absolutely LOVE the Drew Allar selection. Talent wise, he possesses every single tool needed to be a franchise caliber starting QB in this league (and a very good one).
• Prototypical QB size standing at 6’5” and weighing just under 240 pounds.
• Throws with incredibly effortless velocity and a spin rate that truly make NFL-caliber windows accessible.
• Incredibly tough and assertive runner that will do the dirty work to pick up those 1st downs on 3rd and manageable. He will not hesitate to lower his shoulder into anybody and will do so without flinching. This kid is tough as nails, man.
• Tactical ability to manipulate his arm and throwing motion to make throws dependent upon the rush lane and stands very tall as pockets begin to collapse.
• Possesses a very quick, yet polished release for a QB of his size.
Areas that need to be cleaned up:
• Short yardage ball placement accuracy (screens, quick slants, etc.).
• Footwork; when his lower half deviates away from pressure he becomes a flat-footed thrower.
• Field processing and post snap reads; he needs to more comfortably go through his progressions especially when the first read isn’t available.
My consensus is this:
There is absolutely nobody else I’d want developing him other than Mike McCarthy. I truly believe Drew Allar fell to the perfect organization. If Aaron Rodgers does come back, it would be the best thing for him. Regardless, his potential and upside are through the roof.
@JN_Steve_ Why? Because he is from Penn State? Why wouldn’t we give Will Howard a shot first? At least he is more accomplished. This is Kenny Pickett all over again.
Can we give Drew Allar a chance? People have fired off some ridiculous takes about the guy since the pick was made.
“Wasted pick like Kenny Pickett”. First of all, that literally doesn’t even correlate considering we selected Pickett in the 1st round and they couldn’t be more different lmao. Pickett was labeled pro ready with a safe floor. Allar is labeled a project who could boom or bust.
“No shot at development, he sucks”. Really? A 22 year old with prototypical size, cannon arm, and solid mobility has no shot at development with a HC known for his work with QBs? Look, I get it, a good portion of the tape is rough.. but we are not talking about a QB like Penix who was 24 when he was drafted. Allar has room for growth, and you would be foolish to say otherwise.
Now if you’re simply betting against him, I get it, anyone can do that just by looking at the poor QB hit rate around the league. I choose to root for him and hope he is the future of the franchise. #NFLDraft#Steelers#HereWeGo
@Hero_OfThe_Day@NBA@famouslos32 Just think of how much more respect There would be for James if he didn’t flop so much. I mean his flopping is next level and diminishes his accomplishments.
Second time this season that LeBron faked an injury then in seconds forgot which body part was supposed to be hurt.
The @NBA really made this man their face!!
😭😭😭😭😭😭😭

I'm actually amazed people are this upset with the Steelers taking Drew Allar, if he didn't throw that interception in the Orange Bowl, and won that game, and won the national championship, fans would be talking about how great of a pick this was.
Every single Steeler draft pick is a reach. This might be the worst draft by the Steelers which is saying a lot considering they had 12 draft picks to work with!
