@PHChess Yeah exactly. Strong opinions, a very big ego and double standards. Chess isn’t making sense to him anymore.

Anish Giri forcing a repetition draw in a better position. It makes absolutely no sense to me, neither from his personal tournament perspective, nor from making chess interesting for spectators or attractive for sponsors.

@WeAreMessi Even this is better than Maradona’s ‘life is life’ perform. Maradona was from another planet, Messi from another universe. That’s like 10^3 to 10^24. Outclassing Maradona in e-ve-ry-thing! Clean, goals, trophies, faster, smarter, preciser and built differently! D10S Messi #GOAT

@SusanPolgar First liked Qb3 (Qd5 & f7), Qa5+ (forced) & here liking c3. If dxc+ Kc2+with an attack. But what if 0-0? 🤷🏻‍♂️ So maybe Ke2, Kc8 (no 0-0), Qc4. If Qa5 Rxd4 with attack & follow up Rhd1 for pressure. If Qxb2, Rb1, Qa3, Rb3 possible open d-file, many threats. Too many vars for here.

White to move. It is a wild and chaotic position but black is up two pawns. What is the best path going forward for white? #ChessTactic #ChessPunks

@TarjeiJS And that’s exactly mirrored by the gap in ELO. He’s still the best. In an era of engines, big mouthed cheaters and social media full of subjective haters, he keeps doing what he does the most: winning! Ladies and gentlemen: the one and only #GOAT. Congrats to @MagnusCarlsen.💪🏼🙌🏼

I don't think I was alone in thinking this tournament could be a disaster for Carlsen, given his classical break. By his standards his performance wasn't perfect, but good enough to win.

Congratulations to @MagnusCarlsen on winning TePe Sigeman Chess for the first time after winning on demand in the last round and then beating Arjun Erigaisi 2-1 in Tiebreaks!

@TarjeiJS Exactly. 😁😏 It was ‘luck’ he picked his King. It was ‘luck’ he played it to b5. His opponent understood the position perfectly. He just had bad luck. I mean, this Carlsen guy thrives on luck. His whole career.

@suuny_fu What a dumb comment! There r many L-attacks where 1 holds prey by biting the neck (yes suffocating) & where 5 lions start eating the prey alive. While suffocating takes at least 4 minutes, the prey is ripped open by the belly/behind legs & organs r ripped out. Alive. Ignorance!

At least lions try to suffocate their victims instead of tearing them apart while they’re alive. Not many predators do that.

@PHChess @GMJacobAagaard And when it gets “too difficult” for him, he’s gone low under his I-have-many-books-to-work-on-gonna-go-out-of-X-umbrella. Bet he’s studying his own book right now.😂 The greatest chess story teller there is.

@GMJacobAagaard My main argument will be that I use actual results and that I was there, while you use faulty stats invented by AI. Anand made 7 draws in 2005, not 11. You published a book about the tournament.

@Jackkk All he has to do: 1 stop cheating; 2 achieve great results… …and he’ll surpass the 2840. But 1 as well as 2 seems to be the problem for mr. Cheatmann. MC wasn’t crying about surpassing Kasparov. He just proved he was better, the true #GOAT, by doing it. End of line. 🙋🏻‍♂️

Hans Niemann explains why it’s so hard to pass Magnus Carlsen as world number one in Chess “Magnus Carlsen plays like 10-20 games a year. In chess, there’s no minimum activity requirement to not decay in your ranking” “Guys like Magnus can play 10 games a year for 10 years and it’s very hard for anyone to surpass him because he’s not gonna compete against people chasing him” “He avoids me pretty well, if he’s playing in a tournament he’ll make sure I’m not invited. He’s playing in a tournament in Sweden this may, I won it in 2022 and they never invited me back…”

@xxChessMaster Kasparov is 100% right & his reaction is genuine. Kasp being Kasp! A true winners mentality. As usual social M can’t deal with it. So the biggest chess dummies start tweeting. And glad this wasn’t MC…mr. Cheatmann all over the place again. And Topo? OMG 🤦🏻‍♂️ #Wannabe’s 😬 😆🙋🏻‍♂️

He pushed the pawn to the 8th rank, pressed the clock, then took a queen and placed it on the square, replacing the pawn. Garry Kasparov didn’t like it.

@Eljanov MC’s prime peak (2889) he didn’t make it to 2900 only bc he faced engine-prepped elite. Anand, Kramnik, Fabi, Ding, Nepo, Aronian,…games of 90+% accuracy yet hard to win->draws->losing ELO. 7/10 in Tata & gain 2 ELO. Many played 2 draw, winning ELO. MC should have reached 2900…

From recent coach interviews: Sindarov aims for 2800+ and domination. Erdogmus - 2900+. Something doesn’t quite add up here. Feels like Magnus might have to “enter the chat” again 😂.

@HansMokeNiemann U don’t get to dictate #1 rules & how to stay it, u opportunist. It’s funny how all r talking about ELO inflation etc. meanwhile advocating for ‘losing ELO system’. U realise without cheating you’ll never get to 2800, nor 2840 let alone 2882. 😂 Still, how did you do it? 🤔 🙋🏻‍♂️

While the tweet has gone viral, all negative comments attack me instead of addressing the substance of my point. If you want to be the #1 ranked classical player in the world, you have to play more tournaments, not a select few every year.
Hans Niemann@HansMokeNiemann

For those without context, the supposed #1 player would be considered inactive in any other sport and wouldn’t be able to maintain his ranking. Tennis is the perfect example. Rating/rankings should reward ACTIVITY!
