Lessons from #Rwanda 🇷🇼 HE President Paul Kagame in Chantilly, France, attending the World Policy Conference to discuss global governance and regional conflicts. “We had to start from ourselves … the Continent needs to do that, look at what it has … almost everything … make people proud of who they are … and then we get those powers who want to press upon us that we really don’t have much, don’t mean much, that we only can survive because of them. This notion has to be challenged, by all of us… in fact including even from the North - the very people this originates from, also have to challenge it - more cooperation, more respect for each other. Not assuming that it is One Side that decides what is wrong and what is right …

These allegations are false and completely unfounded. There has been no transfer of arms from Belgium to Burundi. Unfortunately, this kind of disinformation is not new. It mainly serves the interests of those who seek to fuel tensions — whether between Belgium and Rwanda or more broadly across the region — and to undermine ongoing efforts toward dialogue and peace. I therefore urge everyone not to fall into this trap. Belgium’s position remains clear and consistent: there is no military solution to the conflict in eastern DRC. The only viable and sustainable way forward is a political one, based on dialogue and the negotiation of an inclusive and lasting peace. @RealMumbogo_S
