New! Sarah Grace Patrick's hearing from this morning: Sarah Patrick's new attorney asked for more time before trial. The State pushed back, noting that in January Sarah's previous attorney said the defense was ready to go immediately. The only reason a continuance to July was granted was because the State was waiting on evidence related to one issue. The defense argued their new legal team has been tied up with other trials since the lead public defender took over in February. They also argued that if the State received extra time for a single unresolved issue, the defense should receive additional time because they have multiple issues to address. They further pointed out that the State's original evidence issue still hasn't been resolved. Because he had other hearings, the judge said he would issue his ruling by Wednesday afternoon. After the judge announced that timeline, defense counsel tried to make one final argument, repeating the same reasons for requesting a continuance. The judge politely but firmly cut him off, saying those arguments had already been made and considered. While he appreciated counsel's zealous advocacy for his client, he would not tolerate rearguing the same points.

@CoffindafferFBI They’re pretty open with why: they said as long as he is in the custody of the county, they will be responsible for paying for his medical treatment. They said that would most likely bankrupt the county which is not fair to the taxpayers.

The 16 kids case Gary Siders has been released on his own recognizance. What that means is he is out without posting any sort of bond. He apparently suffered a medical incident during transport and has been hospitalized. Forgive me if I show 0 sympathy. The point is that he is out receiving medical care and will not have to post bond to stay out of jail unless the government files a motion to re-set a bond and the judge accepts it. Recall what I said early on? Why I am watching this case so closely? Because child abusers and child predators are treated so very lenient in most cases. I really hoped this case would be different. Lonoke County Prosecutor Chuck Graham has confirmed that the State of Arkansas will NOT be appealing Judge Ralph Wilson’s ruling Dismissing the case against Aaron with prejudice. Our break from questionably shaped risks ends Wednesday as a level 1 risk is present across portions of the central Great Plains into the Upper Midwest. A southward moving cold front combined with high moisture and daytime heating will lead to some instability, while some lapse rates in the mid-levels will be confined to the higher plains. There remains uncertain activity as to morning morning/early afternoon activity, as it is unknown whether an evolving storm cluster will be able to keep enough organization to produce isolated severe gusts across the Upper Midwest during the day. If the atmosphere can destabilize after this activity, strong thunderstorms will be able to develop ahead of the front Wednesday into Wednesday night, bringing a risk for severe hail and wind. Meanwhile for the Plains, thunderstorms are set to initiate off the higher terrain of southeastern Wyoming and central Colorado late in the day Wednesday. These will be carried into a more unstable environment situated near a weak surface low developing over the High Plains. While these will start as discrete supercells presenting a risk for severe hail and localized downbursts, a low-level jet strengthening overnight could allow for this activity to transition into a larger cluster, allowing for concentrated swaths of damaging wind gusts throughout the evening.

WEDNESDAY, July 8 will feature a risk zone for storms across parts of the Plains and Upper Midwest. Things look to get wet overnight, potentially lingering into Thursday morning. A cold front will impinge upon a humid, moisture-rich airmass, causing scattered thunderstorms to form between 6 and 9 PM, coinciding with peak daytime heating. Storms may eventually merge into a line. There's not much jet stream wind energy blowing overhead, keeping the severe weather risk marginal. Only scattered gusts of 50-60 mph are likely. That said, locally heavy rainfall is probable. Storms will sag southward overnight before dissipating into Thursday morning.
