Days left in Busan South Korea to find a binding plastics treaty. With 460M tons produced pa. forecast to grow x3 by 2060 debate centres on capping production or managing the issue through recycling. Legislation EPR/DRS are essential to capturing plastic “giving it a second life”

waste making an appearance at #COP29 targeting methane emissions. Need to support development of sanitary landfills in developing countries, using methane as a local power source but not let’s not forget the 2.5B tons of food wasted globally each year.

@wesstreeting daughter has graduated as a physio & only 20% of the course have jobs due to a freeze on recruitment at most hospitals.She tells me that 470 out of 500 qualifying nurses in Newcastle are without jobs also. Why with the desperate need in NHS there’s no jobs for them?

Wonderful day receiving my OBE from King Charles for services to recycling. Spoke about simpler recycling, circularity his speech at Cop 28 and when I saw him speak @CIWM Torbay in early 90’s.
