What a tremendous honor it was to be the head coach of @NMHU_Basketball. After the past 48 hours saw our President Dr. Neil Woolf, the very best man I know on earth, be ousted without reason, along with our provost and multiple other high ranking members of our leadership team/administration relieved of duties, it was clear that the path forward was untenable for our program. I’m eternally grateful to Dr. Neil Woolf and Dr. Paul Grindstaff for their faith, support, and forward-thinking vision and will always hold a special place in my heart for @NMHighlands. I’ll always be proud of our program’s first winning season in @RMAC_SPORTS play since 2019-20, and cherish the commitment from our guys that helped our team become the first Cowboys team with a winning conference record this decade in any sport at @NMHU_Athletics. I look forward to supporting our single season program record EIGHT (8!) graduates at commencement this Saturday. Go Cowboys!

Tayden Barnes was a 2024 Conference USA All-Freshman safety at NMSU two years ago and entered the portal again after a season at Cincinnati. Now, he's back at New Mexico State.

Furman QB Trey Hedden has transferred to New Mexico State. Hedden passed for 2,967 yards, 17 touchdowns and 13 interceptions with a 76.7 PFF passing grade in 2025. He was a 2024 Southern Conference All-Freshman Team selection.
